Updates in COPD Management: From Inflammatory Pathways to Targeted Therapies

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Clinical Investigation, Volume 56, Issue 10, October 2026.
COPD is a heterogeneous disease driven by overlapping neutrophilic and eosinophilic inflammatory pathways. This review highlights the shift from symptom‐based treatment toward phenotype‐ and biomarker‐directed care. Blood eosinophils, FeNO, and IgE predict corticosteroid responsiveness and identify candidates for biologic therapy.

d‐Sorbose Promotes Regulatory T‐Cell Differentiation and Ameliorates Autoimmune and Allergic Diseases via Hexosamine Biosynthetic Pathway Inhibition

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 17, 15 September 2026.
d‐Sorbose promotes Foxp3+ Treg differentiation ex vivo and exerts potent anti‐inflammatory effects in vivo, ameliorating allergic airway inflammation and preventing autoimmune diabetes without compromising T cell viability or inducing toxicity.

Thymic epithelial cells. I. Expression of strong suppressive (veto) activity in mouse thymic epithelial cell cultures

open access: yes, 1990
We show that thymic epithelial cells grown under serum-free conditions in a chemically defined culture medium can act as veto cells in vitro. The veto activity of thymic epithelial cells results in inactivation of specific alloreactive cytotoxic T-cell ...

Extrusion Bioprinting for Wound Healing: Innovations in Functionalized Bioinks and Bioprinting Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 11, Issue 18, 18 September 2026.
Extrusion‐based bioprinting (EBB) has emerged as a versatile biofabrication platform capable of precisely depositing bioinks composed of biomaterials, cells, and bioactive agents to generate patient‐specific, biomimetic skin constructs. This paper presents a state‐of‐the‐art and forward‐looking overview of EBB for wound healing, encompassing printing ...

IL‐7R‐Enriched Extracellular Vesicles From the Thymus Drive Colitis via Promoting Neutrophil Extracellular Trap Formation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 49, 3 September 2026.
Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) pathogenesis remains unclear. This study reveals that thymus‐originated IL‐7R‐enriched extracellular vesicles exacerbate colitis by promoting neutrophil extracellular traps via a thymus‐gut axis, uncovering an inter‐organ communication mechanism in inflammatory bowel disease pathogenesis.

Extent of Sinus Surgery Is Associated With Disease Control in Biologic Treated Type 2 Dominant CRS

open access: yesInternational Forum of Allergy &Rhinology, Volume 16, Issue 9, Page 986-995, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background A greater benefit of biologics is observed after surgery in Type 2 chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). However, the extent of surgery remains undefined in many studies. This study evaluated the extent of surgery on disease control in patients receiving biologics for refractory Type 2 dominant CRSwNP.
