Neuroendocrine neoplasms of the thymus. [PDF]
Neuroendocrine neoplasms of the thymus (tNENs), including typical carcinoid, atypical carcinoid, large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma, and small cell carcinoma, are rare tumors with scarce clinical and pathological data available in the literature. They share many common features with neuroendocrine neoplasms in other organs, such as those in the lungs,

Neuroendocrine Neoplasms of the Lungs, Thyroid, and Thymus. [PDF]
Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) comprise a group of tumours that can develop in various internal organs, but in this review, we will describe only those arising in the lungs, thyroid, and thymus. Pulmonary neuroendocrine neoplasms (pulmonary NENs) account for approximately 25% of all lung cancers.

Diffusion-Weighted MR Imaging of the Thymus in Children with Non-Thymic Neoplasms [PDF]
Purpose: To investigate the diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) findings and apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) value of the thymus in children under the age of 13 who have non-thymic neoplasms. Materials and Methods: From January 2021 to April 2023, a single-center retrospective study analyzed consecutive 191 thoracic MRI scans with DWI from 67 ...

Involvement of the thymus by metastatic neoplasms. [PDF]
A series of autopsy thymuses was collected and studied for incidence of metastatic carcinoma. Contrary to present views, metastatic deposits of carcinoma selectively localised in the islands of thymic tissue were observed. The incidence of involvement of the thymus by proliferative disorders of the lympho-reticular system in the series is recorded.

Mechanism of T-Cell Lymphomagenesis: Transformation of Growth-Factor-Dependent T-Lymphoblastoma Cells to Growth-Factor-Independent T-Lymphoma Cells [PDF]
In a previous paper we described the induction by x-irradiation or radiation-induced leukemia virus-in-oculation of two classes of lymphoid T-cell neoplasms: The first class, designated T-cell lymphoblastoma (TCLB), consists of growth-factor-dependent ...

Benign TdT-positive cells in pediatric and adult lymph nodes: a potential diagnostic pitfall [PDF]
Benign TdT-positive cells have been documented in a variety of non-hematopoietic tissues. Scant data are however available on their presence in non-neoplastic lymph nodes.

Fine needle aspiration cytology of hepatic metastases of neuroendocrine tumors: A 20‐year retrospective, single institutional study [PDF]
Background Fine needle aspiration (FNA) is considered an excellent technique for documenting metastatic neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). This study aims to evaluate the accuracy of FNA in diagnosing metastatic NETs to the liver and determining the grade ...
