Research of PCE based on the time-headway

2011 International Conference on Business Management and Electronic Information, 2011
Vehicles in a queue affect each other, so the record of time-headway was made in motorcades. 377 data groups of time-headway were collected at north Jia Song Road in shanghai using stopwatch. The research was calibrated on “steady-flow” traffic operations.

Time to make headway on Agenda for Change

British Journal of Community Nursing, 2002
Despite the bounty of the Chancellor’s 2002/2003 budget and the billions of pounds heading for the health service, there is still a long way to go before a final settlement is reached on a new structure for nurses’ pay and conditions. We can only hope that when it arrives it lives up to expectations.

Time Headway on French Rural Roads

IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2003
Abstract This paper presents some empirical time headways observed on rural roads in France, and proposes a model relating the time gaps to the traffic flow, to the percentage of long vehicles, to the number of lanes; the influence of the period of the day is discussed.

Time headway variable and probabilistic modeling

Transportation Research Part C: Emerging Technologies, 2012

Time Headway Process

2014
The time headway process has great practical as well as theoretical significance in highway engineering. The chapter deals with the basics which statistically characterize a process of time intervals between vehicles of a traffic stream.

ANALYSIS OF TIME HEADWAYS ON URBAN ROADS

Civil Engineering and Environmental Systems, 2002
Abstract The headway between vehicles in a traffic stream is of fundamental importance in traffic engineering applications. Previous research in this subject has focused on modeling theoretical distributions for low and medium traffic flow conditions. Yet little research has studied congested traffic conditions, that is, the high traffic flow state. In

Effects of V2V communication on time headway for autonomous vehicles

2017 American Control Conference (ACC), 2017
In this paper, we investigate the benefits of Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communication for autonomous vehicles employing a Constant Time Headway Policy (CTHP). It is known that ACC equipped vehicles employing a CTHP must maintain a time headway that is lower bounded by 2τ 0 for string stability, where τ 0 is the maximum value of parasitic actuation lag.

Adaptive Vehicle Following Control System with Variable Time Headways

Proceedings of the 44th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006
In this paper, we design a vehicle following control system with variable time headways, using adaptive control design methodology. It is shown that the designed vehicle following control system guarantees closed-loop system stability, and that it regulates the speed and separation errors towards zero when the lead vehicle is at a constant speed ...

Train headway estimation for maglev with blocking time theory

Journal of Computational Methods in Sciences and Engineering
As the commercialization of maglev trains continues to accelerate, effective improvement of maglev train operation has become a topic for researchers. The train headway of the maglev is the preparation basis for the train timetable and is also an essential factor affecting the line capacity utilization.

Time Headway in Different Vehicle-Following Manoeuvres

Perceptual and Motor Skills, 1980
Reliable differences in time headway were observed for 6 experienced volunteer truck drivers who drove continuously 11 hr. on each of 4 days over a 300-mile route. Type of manoeuvre was a significant factor in observed time headway in following another vehicle.
