Nanomaterial Strategies for Pulmonary Delivery of Immunotherapeutics in Lung Cancer Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Inhalable immunotherapeutic nanomedicines enable organ‐selective immune modulation by overcoming pulmonary delivery barriers and concentrating therapy within lung tumors. This Review defines how nanomaterial properties govern airway deposition, retention, cellular partitioning, and immune activation across vaccines, checkpoint blockade, STING agonists,

Extrusion Bioprinting for Wound Healing: Innovations in Functionalized Bioinks and Bioprinting Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Extrusion‐based bioprinting (EBB) has emerged as a versatile biofabrication platform capable of precisely depositing bioinks composed of biomaterials, cells, and bioactive agents to generate patient‐specific, biomimetic skin constructs. This paper presents a state‐of‐the‐art and forward‐looking overview of EBB for wound healing, encompassing printing ...

Overexpression of tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase-1 and -2 in the stroma of gastric cancer [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Korean Medical Science, 1996
The fundamental event of cancer invasion and metastasis is the complicated interaction of cancer cells with host cells, in which event, a number of proteases and their inhibitors are involved. Matrix metalloproteinases are the potent proteases in degrading the basement membrane and extra cellular matrix and are inhibited by specific endogeneous ...

3D‐Printed Corneal Substitutes: Materials, Fabrication, and Preclinical Progress

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Successful clinical translation of 3D‐printed corneal substitutes relies on the interplay between the bioink properties, cellular component, and the fabrication process. These factors influence the critical properties of the construct, including optical transparency, mechanical stability, suture retention, that ultimately govern long‐term stromal ...

Natural haemozoin induces expression and release of human monocyte tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Recently matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and its endogenous inhibitor (tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1, TIMP-1) have been implicated in complicated malaria. In vivo, mice with cerebral malaria (CM) display high levels of both MMP-9 and TIMP-1,

Combating Inflammation and Promoting Anabolism in Osteoarthritic Cartilage Defect With an MMP13‐Sensing Dual‐Drug Scaffold

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Osteoarthritis (OA) is a widespread degenerative joint condition marked by progressive cartilage breakdown, and a chronic inflammatory microenvironment, where conventional therapies largely fail to halt disease progression. To address this unmet need, an intra‐articularly implantable, disease‐responsive scaffold was developed for combinatorial

Serum matrix metalloproteinase-9 and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 expression in patients with familial Mediterranean fever

open access: yesThe Turkish Journal of Gastroenterology, 2015
Background/Aims: Serum matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1 (TIMP-1) are well-known inflammatory biomarkers, with a diagnostic potential for various diseases.

Expression of tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase 1 (TIMP-1) in gastric cancer tissue.

open access: yesFolia Histochemica et Cytobiologica, 2010
Degradation of extracellular matrix (ECM) is an essential step of invasion and metastasis of gastric cancer. The proteolysis of basement membranes depends on the balance between activities of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and their tissue inhibitors (TIMPs).

The Development and Pilot Clinical Study of CD147 Targeted Antagonistic Peptide Probe for Tumor Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes [68Ga]Ga‐DOTA‐AP9 as a first‐in‐human CD147‐targeted PET tracer with favorable safety and specific tumor uptake. Tracer accumulation correlates with CD147 expression in patients, enabling noninvasive quantification of CD147‐positive malignancies.
