Glomerular Protein Levels of Matrix Metalloproteinase-1 and Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinase-1 Are Lower in Diabetic Subjects [PDF]
Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinases (TIMPs) regulate extracellular matrix turnover throughout the body, including in renal glomeruli. We investigated protein levels of multiple MMPs (MMP-1, MMP-2, MMP-3, and MMP-9) and TIMP-1 in glomeruli and investigated whether disease phenotypes were ...

This paper reveals how human lactoferrin–albumin fusion (hLF‐HSA) potently suppresses lung adenocarcinoma cell migration. hLF‐HSA upregulates NHE7, leading to Golgi alkalization, disruption of the Golgi secretome, downregulation of MMP1, and reversal of EMT. These findings suggest a novel Golgi‐targeting strategy to suppress cancer cell migration.

Gelatinases and their tissue inhibitors during human ovulation: increased expression of tissue inhibitor of matrix metalloproteinase-1 [PDF]
Remodelling of the extracellular matrix (ECM) of the follicular wall by matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) and tissue inhibitors of matrix metalloproteinases (TIMPs) has been suggested to be crucial in ovulation. To investigate the expression of the gelatinases, MMP-2 and MMP-9, together with their inhibitors, TIMP-2 and TIMP-1, in the perifollicular ...

The repair and regeneration of brain tissue faces both biological and technical challenges. Injectable bioscaffolds offer new opportunities to stimulate tissue regrowth in the brain by recruiting neural stem cells. Here, the translational issues are reviewed that need to be address to advance this promising new therapeutic approach from the bench to ...

Leptin Stimulates Tissue Inhibitor of Metalloproteinase-1 in Human Hepatic Stellate Cells
Leptin is recognized as a profibrogenic hormone in the liver, but the mechanisms involved have not been clarified. The tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase (TIMP)-1, which acts through inhibition of collagen degradation, is synthesized by activated ...

Decellularized Extracellular Matrix (dECM) in Tendon Regeneration: A Comprehensive Review
Decellularized Extracellular Matrix (dECM) offers a promising solution by replicating the native tendon microenvironment and promoting regeneration. This review highlights advances in the decellularization methods, as well as their integration with emerging technologies and translational progress in tendon tissue engineering.

Natural haemozoin induces expression and release of human monocyte tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1. [PDF]
Recently matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP-9) and its endogenous inhibitor (tissue inhibitor of metalloproteinase-1, TIMP-1) have been implicated in complicated malaria. In vivo, mice with cerebral malaria (CM) display high levels of both MMP-9 and TIMP-1,

Overexpression of tissue inhibitors of metalloproteinase-1 and -2 in the stroma of gastric cancer [PDF]
The fundamental event of cancer invasion and metastasis is the complicated interaction of cancer cells with host cells, in which event, a number of proteases and their inhibitors are involved. Matrix metalloproteinases are the potent proteases in degrading the basement membrane and extra cellular matrix and are inhibited by specific endogeneous ...
