Alternative methods for titratable acidity determination
Talanta, 1995Methods for determination of titratable acidity, other than traditional titration, i.e. methods without titration, are considered. A number of them use analytical acid-base reagents which quickly convert a mixture of strong and weak acids into a new system. This conversion makes it possible to obtain directly the analytical signal (pH, optical density,

Titratable acidity: A Pitts concept revisited
Scandinavian Journal of Clinical and Laboratory Investigation, 2014Titratable Acidity (TA) in urine can be measured directly or calculated from actual and reference pH, by using the pKa₂ 6,8 for phosphate. In urine, H₂PO₄(-) represents the excretion of filtered H₂PO₄(-), filtrated HPO₄(2-) being completely reabsorbed by the proximal tubule (the Van Slyke approach).

The titration of polymeric acids
Journal of Colloid Science, 1957Abstract Data in the literature for the titration of polyacrylic and polymethacrylic acids are considered. Polyacrylic acid gives straight-line graphs of pK against α 1 3 provided no neutral salt is present; here pK = pH + log 1-α/α and α is the degree of ionization.

ON THE SPECIFICITY OF DYE TITRATION FOR ASCORBIC ACID
Canadian Journal of Research, 1946The 2,6-dichlorophenolindophenol method of assay of vitamin C has been critically examined with respect to a number of fresh, boiled, and otherwise treated plant materials. Comparative values are given for ascorbic acid as determined by the usual method, for non-vitamin C reductants, and for dehydroascorbic acid.In the fresh uncooked materials examined,

Logarithmic diagrams in acid—base titrations and estimation of titration errors
Talanta, 1980The use of a logarithmic diagram for the estimation of the pH-value at the equivalence point and the titration error when a solution containing one or two acids is titrated with standard alkali is described.

The Role of Titratable Acidity in Acid Aerosol-induced Bronchoconstriction
American Review of Respiratory Disease, 1987Abstract We evaluated the importance of pH, titratable acidity, and specific chemical composition in acid aerosol-induced bronchoconstriction in 8 asthmatic subjects. We administered aerosols of HCl and H2SO4 at pH 2.0 in an unbuffered state and buffered with glycine.

TITRATABLE ACID OR BASE OF BODY FLUIDS
Annals of the New York Academy of Sciences, 1966S.P.L. Sgrensen not only introduced the p H concept, but in his classical paper from 1909 “Enzymstudien 11” he also described in great detail the colorimetric as well as the potentiometric methods for p H measurement, and he pointed out that two kinds of acidity must be distinguished: Actual acidity and titratable acidity.

Non-aqueous titration of hydroxamic acids
Talanta, 1966Benzohydroxamic acid is titrated with 0.1M tetrabutyl-anunonium hydroxide in nine non-aqueous solvents with three different indicating electrodes. The best results are obtained using dimethylformamide as solvent and platinum-platinum electrodes. Four monoprotic and three diprotic hydroxamie acids and iron(III) benzohydroxamate have been successfully ...

Linear Titration Curves of Acids and Bases
Science, 1959The Henderson-Hasselbalch equation, by a simple transformation, becomes p H - pK = pA - pB , where pA and pB are the negative logarithms of acid and base concentrations.

Titration of phosphonic acid derivatives in mixtures
Talanta, 1980An analytical procedure is described for the determination of the weak acids phosphonomethyliminodiacetic acid and phosphonomethyliminoacetic acid in their mixtures, and the dissociation constants of phosphonomethyliminoacetic acid are reported.
