Post‐COVID‐19 Public Health Challenges: Insights Into Post‐COVID Symptoms, Stigma, and Post‐Pandemic Recovery Support From the Vietnam Experience

open access: yesPublic Health Challenges, Volume 5, Issue 4, December 2026.
Post‐COVID‐19 symptoms and social stigma were common among COVID‐19 survivors in Vietnam. Notably, perceived stigma is significantly associated with poorer quality of life. These findings highlight the need for comprehensive post‐pandemic recovery support to promote well‐being and social integration.

Site‐specific O‐glycans influence lacritin structure and multimerization in tears

open access: yesProtein Science, Volume 35, Issue 11, November 2026.
Abstract Lacritin is an abundantly expressed glycoprotein in tear fluid and plays key roles in immune response, tear secretion, and bacterial killing. These biological functions are tightly regulated through several biochemical mechanisms including multimerization, proteolysis, and alternative splicing, especially within its C‐terminal domain.

Different expression of Tn and sialyl-Tn antigens between normal and diseased human gastric epithelial cells.

open access: yes
Thomsen-Friedenreich antigen (T antigen) has been supposed to be a cancer-specific carbohydrate antigen. We have previously shown that one third of the Japanese population normally expressed T antigen in gastric surface epithelia and the other two thirds

AI‐based anatomical recognition for bladder neck dissection in robot‐assisted radical prostatectomy

open access: yesBJU International, Volume 138, Issue 5, Page 852-859, November 2026.
Objective To develop an artificial intelligence (AI) system for anatomical recognition that can automatically identify key anatomical structures during bladder neck dissection in robot‐assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP), a critical yet technically demanding step.

TROP2 immunoreactivity in pulmonary large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 89, Issue 5, Page 779-785, November 2026.
Frequently positive TROP2 IHC suggests that TROP2 antibody‐drug conjugates may be potential treatments for LCNEC. Introduction TROP2 antibody‐drug conjugates have shown promising anti‐tumour activity, but neither the activity of these agents nor TROP2 expression has been well studied in pulmonary large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC), a rare and ...

Pancreatic Cancer Early Detection Biomarkers for High‐Risk Individuals: Insights From the PRECEDE Consortium

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cancer, Volume 159, Issue 8, Page 1873-1883, 15 October 2026.
ABSTRACT Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) remains one of the deadliest cancers due to its asymptomatic progression, late‐stage diagnosis, and treatment resistance. Efforts in early detection have centered on identifying imaging features and liquid biopsy biomarkers capable of detecting PDAC and its high‐grade precursors before clinical symptoms ...

Endothelial Exostosin‐1 Is Needed for Glycocalyx Integrity and Inflammatory Resolution in Acute Lung Injury

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 19, 15 October 2026.
Endothelial Ext1 is essential for maintaining heparan sulfate–rich endothelial glycocalyx integrity. Loss of Ext1 reduces glycocalyx thickness, resulting in enhanced leukocyte adhesion, increased vascular permeability, and exaggerated inflammatory responses following lipopolysaccharide (LPS) challenge.
