Heterogeneous Map Merging: State of the Art

open access: yesRobotics, 2019
Multi-robot mapping and environment modeling have several advantages that makeit an attractive alternative to the mapping with a single robot: faster exploration, higherfault tolerance, richer data due to different sensors being used by different systems.

Modular Supervisory Control for the Coordination of a Manufacturing Cell with Observable Faults

open access: yesSensors, 2022
In the present paper, a manufacturing cell in the presence of faults, coming from the devices of the process, is considered. The modular modeling of the subsystems of the cell is accomplished using of appropriate finite deterministic automata.

Multi‐omics and low‐input proteomics profiling reveals dynamic regulation driving pluripotency initiation in early mouse embryos

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Mouse pre‐implantation development involves a transition from totipotency to pluripotency. Integrating transcriptomics, epigenetic profiling, low‐input proteomics and functional assays, we show that eight‐cell embryos retain residual totipotency features, whereas cytoskeletal remodeling regulated by the ubiquitin‐proteasome system drives progression ...

Conflicting plant responses to silver nanoparticles including specific and non-specific response, tolerance mechanism and positive effect

open access: yesGreen Chemistry Letters and Reviews
In this review, we summarize the basic responses of plants to silver nanoparticles. These have been divided into non-specific (stress response to reactive oxygen species, plant-dependent factors, concentration) and specific responses (AgNPs form, size ...

Evaluation of Job-Mix Formula Tolerances as Related to Asphalt Mixtures Properties

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2018
The current Iraqi standard specifications for roads and bridges allowed the prepared Job-Mix Formula for asphalt mixtures to witness some tolerances with regard to the following: coarse aggregate gradation by ± 6.0 %, fine aggregate gradation by ± 4.0 %,

Runtime Enforcement for Component-Based Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Runtime enforcement is an increasingly popular and effective dynamic validation technique aiming to ensure the correct runtime behavior (w.r.t. a formal specification) of systems using a so-called enforcement monitor.

Blood‐based proteomic profiling reveals context‐dependent changes in BCL2‐associated signaling during taxane therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Chemotherapy side effects significantly impact cancer survivors' quality of life. Using protein levels in blood samples from breast cancer patients before and after 12 weeks of taxane treatment, we detected treatment‐dependent changes in calcium signaling and aging pathways associated with cancer recurrence.

Interlaboratory Empirical Reproducibility Study Based on a GD&T Benchmark

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2020
The ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and ISO-GPS (geometrical product specifications) standards define tolerances that can be added to components to achieve the necessary functionality and performance.

Fast synchronization 3R burst-mode receivers for passive optical networks [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
This paper gives a tutorial overview on high speed burst-mode receiver (BM-RX) requirements, specific for time division multiplexing passive optical networks, and design issues of such BM-RXs as well as their advanced design techniques. It focuses on how

Feasibility and Tolerability of Performing Portable MRI for Neurological Disorders in an Outpatient Neurology Clinic: A Prospective Cohort

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Accessing brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can be challenging, especially for underserved patients, which may lead to disparities in neurological diagnosis. Method This mixed‐methods study enrolled adults with one of four neurological disorders: mild cognitive impairment or dementia of the Alzheimer type, multiple sclerosis ...
