Fitting-on Force Analysis of Brake Disc Based on Finite Element Technology
After CRH5A EMUs brake discs were repeatedly mounted on wheelsets by pressed-on fitting, the inner hole diameter of the hub would usually be out of the limits of tolerance, so it was difficult for the interference to meet the existing maintenance ...

What Do Large Language Models Know About Materials?
If large language models (LLMs) are to be used inside the material discovery and engineering process, they must be benchmarked for the accurateness of intrinsic material knowledge. The current work introduces 1) a reasoning process through the processing–structure–property–performance chain and 2) a tool for benchmarking knowledge of LLMs concerning ...

A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Building machine‐readable vocabularies for materials science is slow, expert‐driven work. This study benchmarks 13 large language models on two of its first steps: finding candidate terms in engineering articles and deciding where they belong in a class hierarchy.

High bandwidth pickup design for bunch arrival-time monitors for free-electron laser
In this paper, we present the design and realization of high bandwidth pickup electrodes with a cutoff frequency above 40 GHz. The proposed cone-shaped pickups are part of a bunch arrival-time monitor designed for high (>500 pC) and low (20 pC) bunch ...

The present study investigates recycling of NiTi shape memory alloys via vacuum induction melting. An ingot was synthesized from elemental Ni and Ti and subjected to three subsequent remelting cycles. Remelting increases process durations and impurity levels and adversely affects microstructures and functional properties.

Sol–gel‐derived ZnO–rGO hybrid nanoparticles enable Al7075 powder‐metallurgy composites to achieve concurrent gains in hardness and thermal conductivity while markedly lowering friction and wear. The hybrid architecture couples ZnO‐based load support with rGO‐assisted lamellar sliding and heat spreading, revealing a promising route toward lightweight ...
