Liposomal Nanoconfinement Enables Type I Photodynamic Conversion for Synergistic Cancer Photothermal‐Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Liposomal nanoconfinement converts the hemicyanine photosensitizer RhM from Type‐II to Type‐I photodynamic therapy (PDT) while enhancing photothermal therapy (PTT). The RhM‐R837@Lip nanoassembly efficiently generates superoxide (O2•−) and hydroxyl radicals (•OH) to kill tumor cells and achieve tumor ablation.

Prognostic and clinicopathological significance of TLR4 expression in patients with breast cancer: a meta-analysis

open access: yesFrontiers in Oncology
BackgroundThe prognostic value of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) in breast cancer remains to be determined. Therefore, this paper aims to conduct a meta-analysis to assess the correlation between TLR4 and clinicopathological indicators as well as survival ...

TLR‐2 and TLR‐4 expression in monocytes of newborns with late‐onset sepsis

open access: yesJornal de Pediatria (Versão em Português), 2014
Objective: To analyze toll‐like receptor (TLR)‐2 and TLR‐4 expression in monocytes of newborns with late‐onset sepsis. Methods: This prospective study included 27 full‐term newborns aged 8 to 29 days, with clinical and laboratory diagnosis of late‐onset ...

Restriction of Individual Branched‐Chain Amino Acids has Distinct Effects on the Development and Progression of Alzheimer's Disease in 3xTg Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Protein restriction (PR) slows Alzheimer's disease (AD) in mice, and other benefits of PR are due to decreased branched‐chain amino acids (BCAAs). We show that restricting any BCAA has benefits, with sex‐ and BCAA‐specific impacts on pathology, molecular signaling, and cognition.

The Toll like receptor 4 ligand cold-inducible RNA-binding protein as vaccination platform against cancer

open access: yesOncoImmunology, 2018
Tumor infiltrating lymphocytes have been associated with a better prognostic and with higher response rates in patients treated with checkpoint inhibiting antibodies, suggesting that strategies promoting tumor inflammation may enhance the efficacy of ...

Decoding Triphenotypic Neutrophils in Cervical Cancer Evolution and Targeting SPP1+/GBP1+/ELOVL5+ Tumor‐Associated Neutrophils to Sensitize Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The functional schematic diagram of tumor associated neutrophils. Abstract Enhancing cervical cancer (CC) immunotherapy requires deciphering the heterogeneous tumor immune microenvironment (TIME), particularly neutrophil phenotypic dynamics. Here, 1) we collected 543 CC cases to find that patients with elevated neutrophil levels have a higher incidence

Induction Effects Of Bacteroides Fragilis Derived Outer Membrane Vesicles On Toll Like Receptor 2, Toll Like Receptor 4 Genes Expression And Cytokines Concentration In Human Intestinal Epithelial Cells

open access: yesCell Journal, 2018
Objective Gastrointestinal (GI) tract, like other mucosal surface, is colonized with a microbial population known as gut microbiota. Outer membrane vesicles (OMVs) which are produced by gram negative bacteria could be sensed by Toll like receptors (TLRs)

A Deep Representation Learning Method for Quantitative Immune Defense Function Evaluation and Its Clinical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ImmuDef, a novel algorithm to quantitatively evaluate the anti‐infection immune defense function of an individual based on RNA‐seq data via a variational autoencoder (VAE) model. It is validated on 3200+ samples across four immune states with high accuracy. It can serve as a metric for disease severity and prognosis across pathogenic cohorts.

The role of TLR-4 in chemoresistance of cancer

open access: yesDiscover Oncology
Chemotherapy, which aims to eradicate tumor cells and enhance patient survival, is a prevalent approach for tumor treatment. Nevertheless, recurrence and drug resistance resulting from consecutive chemotherapy regimens have emerged as significant factors
