Generation of terahertz vector beam bearing tailored topological charge
Optical vector beams have great potential in many applications, for example optical tweezers, information transmission and processing, laser surface structuring, particle acceleration, and vortex dichroism spectroscopy. However, the reported vector beams

Center Vortices, Nexuses, and Fractional Topological Charge [PDF]
It has been remarked in several previous works that the combination of center vortices and nexuses (a nexus is a monopole-like soliton whose world line mediates certain allowed changes of field strengths on vortex surfaces) carry topological charge ...

Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Fractional skyrme lines in ferroelectric barium titanate
We predict a topological defect in perfectly screened ferroelectric barium titanate which we call a skyrme line. These are linelike objects characterized by skyrmionic topological charge.

The standard electroweak model with Dirac neutrinos is extended by way of the principles of electroweak quark-lepton symmetry and weak topological-charge confinement to account for quark-lepton charge relations which, if not accidental, are indicative of

Impact of Dynamical Fermions on QCD Vacuum Structure [PDF]
We examine how dynamical fermions affect both the UV and infrared structure of the QCD vacuum. We consider large $28^3 \times 96$ lattices from the MILC collaboration, using a gluonic definition of the topological charge density, founded on a new over ...

Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.

Distribution of fermionic and topological observables on the lattice [PDF]
We analyze the topological and fermionic vacuum structure of four-dimensional QCD on the lattice by means of correlators of fermionic observables and topological densities. We show the existence of strong local correlations between the topological charge
