Abstract The Fermi surface of 2 H -NbSe 2 has been investigated using the torque method in strong magnetic fields up to 27 T and at temperatures down to 0.4 K. We show that using the torque method it was possible to observe oscillations at orientations below ⊗ ⩽ 15° ⊗ is the angle between the c -axis and the magnetic field).

On the measurement of the Casimir torque
physica status solidi (b), 2011AbstractWe discuss the possibility of measuring the recently proposed Casimir torque between bi‐refringent crystals, using a torsion pendulum in dark vacuum. By simulation, we analyze the effects of precession, surface polish, and torque due to stray charge. We determine the experimental conditions under which the torque might be measured, and conclude

A precision torque balance for the measurement of small torques
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Part I: Communication and Electronics, 1955THE development and testing of torque motors for precision gyroscopes require the accurate measurement of the small torques developed. These are stall torques, and are measured at various angular positions of the rotor with respect to the stator. The magnitude of these torques is generally less than 50,000 dyne-centimeters (dyne-cm).

Measurement of Torque During Mandibular Distraction
Journal of Craniofacial Surgery, 2008In a prospective study, 26 patients aged 9 days to 12 years old underwent mandibular distraction. There were 18 bilateral and 8 unilateral distractions performed. Five patients had previous distraction. Torque measurements were performed during the distraction process. A modest linear increase in torque was noted during the distraction process.

Measurement uncertainty of torque measurements with rotating torque transducers in power test stands
Measurement, 2007Abstract The objective of the presented study is to introduce a method for estimating the measurement uncertainty of torque measurements. Unlike the well-known approaches, the uncertainty shall take into account the effects acting during torque measurement in industrial applications like power test stands. These effects include the effects also known

There are many ways of measuring torque in electrical machines. Recent advances in transducer technologies means that measurement of torque will be more precise and easy. Traditionally, slip rings have been used for telemetering for measurement on meters and microcomputer systems.

The Torque Test as a Measure of Lateral Dominance
The Journal of Genetic Psychology, 1983The present study was designed to assess the validity of the Torque Test as a measure of functional lateral dominance in children. One hundred forty-nine children were administered the Torque Test and The Harris Test of Lateral Dominance. A low but statistically significant correlation was found between torque and total lateral dominance.

Measurements of Engine Torque with the Intra-Bearing Torque Sensor
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1987<div class="htmlview paragraph">A miniature noncontact torque sensor has been developed to be mounted on an engine for use in engine control systems. The sensor is installed in a last main bearing of the engine crankshaft. The principle is based on the measurement of torque-induced change in magnetic properties of a crankshaft due to the magneto ...

Torque measurement system design
2008 IEEE International Conference on Automation, Quality and Testing, Robotics, 2008In this paper we present the electronic circuits design used in a torque measurement system. The torque measurement system has two parts: a rotating one (the transmitter) and a fixed one (the receiver). The information about torque, fetched from a strain gage bridge is processed and sent to a receiver by a rotating transformer. The rotating transformer

Measurement of edgewise torque force in vitro
American Journal of Orthodontics, 1977The construction of a model for the measurement of palatal root torque is described. It was demonstrated that: 1. Halfway between the apex of a tooth and the arch wire the force was double that which was delivered at the apex. 2. The lateral incisors were subjected to appreciably more force than the central incisors. 3.
