Force and Trajectory Control of Industrial Robots in Stiff Contact

open access: yes, 2013
Position-based force control is presented, incorporating compliance in the robot joints and possibly in a force- / torque-sensor and/or the environment. First, the total compliance is identified.

Modelling of a Magnetostrictive Torque Sensor [PDF]

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
Existing magnetostrictive torque sensor designs typically measure the rotation of the saturation magnetization under an applied torque and their theoretical treatment revolves around the minimization of the free energy equation adapted according to the assumptions considered valid in each design. In the torque measurement design discussed in this paper,

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Design and Measurement of a Dual FBG High-Precision Shape Sensor for Wing Shape Reconstruction

open access: yesSensors, 2021
FBG shape sensors based on soft substrates are currently one of the research focuses of wing shape reconstruction, where soft substrates and torque are two important factors affecting the performance of shape sensors, but the related analysis is not ...

Revised Force Control Using a Compliant Sensor with a Position Controlled Robot

open access: yes, 2012
A different way of force control is presented, that is specially advantageous for position controlled robots. Instead of usual force control laws we rely on the well tuned position control loop and just use the force sensor to measure the target pose or ...

On the Calibration of Force/Torque Sensors in Robotics

open access: yesCoRR, 2019
We present and analyze methods for the kinematic and kinetostatic calibration of, typically, wrist mounted force/torque sensors in robotics. The algorithms are based on matrix factorization and require no special equipment. The only requirement is the ability to reorient the sensor and to measure its orientation in a fixed coordinate system, such as ...

A Feasibility Study of a Noncontact Torque Sensor with Multiple Hall Sensors [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Sensors, 2015
The feasibility of a noncontact sensor is investigated. This type of sensor can potentially be used for torque measurement in a speed-variable power transmission system. Torque can be read by examining the phase difference between two induction signals from respective magnetic sensors that detect the magnetic field intensity of permanent magnets ...
