Drying Method‐Dependent Variations in Phenolics, Color, and Volatile Profile of Thymus praecox subsp. skorpilii

open access: yesJournal of Food Science, Volume 91, Issue 7, July 2026.
ABSTRACT This study investigated the effects of different drying methods, including freeze drying, oven drying, shade drying, and microwave drying (360, 600, and 900 W), on the volatile profile, total phenolic content (TPC), and color characteristics of wild‐grown Thymus praecox subsp. skorpilii.

Synergistic Effects of Carrier Composition and Spray‐Drying Conditions on the Microencapsulation of Pomegranate Peel Extract

open access: yesJournal of Food Process Engineering, Volume 49, Issue 7, July 2026.
Spray drying conditions and carrier composition significantly affected the retention of bioactive compounds in pomegranate peel extract powders. The synergistic combination of maltodextrin and gum arabic enhanced process yield, ellagic acid retention, total phenolic content, and antioxidant activity under optimized drying conditions.

Dual Modeling for Optimization of Corosolic Acid Extraction Conditions From Lagerstroemia speciosa Leaves Using RSM and ANN–GA

open access: yesJournal of Food Process Engineering, Volume 49, Issue 7, July 2026.
Dual modeling of Lagerstroemia speciosa leaf extraction identified ethanol‐rich conditions for corosolic acid recovery. ANN–GA nominated a validated optimum at 98.3% ethanol and 106.5 min, yielding 0.974 ± 0.03 μg/mg corosolic acid with 2.3% relative error.

A Path to Improving Simulated Properties of Low Clouds Over the Beaufort Sea Using Airborne in Situ Observations of Subgrid‐Scale Variability

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Atmospheres, Volume 131, Issue 11, 16 June 2026.
Abstract Arctic low clouds influence Arctic system evolution through their effects on the atmosphere and surface. Unfortunately, atmospheric models and retrospective analysis (reanalysis) struggle to simulate Arctic low cloud occurrence and properties.
