18β‐Glycyrrhetinic Acid and a Nano‐Liposomal Formulation Alleviate Depression‐Like Behaviors via the Microglial mTOR‐Autophagy‐NLRP3 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science
The limited efficacy and slow onset of current antidepressants underscore the urgent need for novel therapeutic strategies. Here, we established a novel zebrafish inflammation‐based screening model and identified 18β‐glycyrrhetinic acid (18β‐GA) as a ...

Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Validation of Madecassoside Synergy Significantly Enhanced Cryptotanshinone’s Therapeutic Efficacy Against Acne Vulgaris

open access: yesBioengineering
Current acne therapies face major limitations, including antibiotic resistance and skin irritancy. In this study, a synergistic strategy combining cryptotanshinone and madecassoside was developed through functional complementarity. Antibacterial activity

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

E-assessment-beyond the traditional assessment in digital environment

open access: yesIOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering, 2021
Abstract An assessment is an integral part of the learning process, which determines whether and to what extent the learning objectives have been achieved. It indicates whether the used tools, technologies and pedagogical approaches have produced positive results.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.
