Finite-volume droplet trajectories for icing simulation [PDF]
During a Lagrangian icing simulation, it is necessary to calculate a large number of droplet trajectories to determine the water catch, and as a result it is important that this procedure is as rapid as possible. In order to arrive at a method with minimum complexity, a finite volume representation of streamlines is extended to incorporate the ...

A Q‐Learning Algorithm to Solve the Two‐Player Zero‐Sum Game Problem for Nonlinear Systems
A Q‐learning algorithm to solve the two‐player zero‐sum game problem for nonlinear systems. ABSTRACT This paper deals with the two‐player zero‐sum game problem, which is a bounded L2$$ {L}_2 $$‐gain robust control problem. Finding an analytical solution to the complex Hamilton‐Jacobi‐Issacs (HJI) equation is a challenging task.

Flight trajectory simulation of badminton shuttlecocks
The aerodynamic behavior of badminton shuttlecocks differs considerably from other ball, racket or projectile sports. Being a bluff body, the shuttlecock generates high aerodynamic drag and steep flight trajectory. Despite the popularity of the badminton

A numerical–experimental framework is developed for characterizing multi‐matrix fiber‐reinforced polymers (MM‐FRPs) combining epoxy and polyurethane matrices. Harmonic bending tests are integrated with finite element model updating (FEMU) to simultaneously identify elastic and viscoelastic material parameters.
