The transition from transcription initiation into elongation is controlled by transcription factors, which recruit positive transcription elongation factor b (P-TEFb) to promoters to phosphorylate RNA polymerase II.

A Comprehensive, Quantitative, and Genome-Wide Model of Translation [PDF]
Translation is still poorly characterised at the level of individual proteins and its role in regulation of gene expression has been constantly underestimated.

Summary: CDK7 regulates RNA polymerase II (RNAPII) initiation, elongation, and termination through incompletely understood mechanisms. Because contaminating kinases prevent reliable CDK7 analysis with nuclear extracts, we reconstitute RNAPII ...

Retention of Transcription Initiation Factor σ70 in Transcription Elongation: Single-Molecule Analysis [PDF]
We report a single-molecule assay that defines, simultaneously, the translocational position of a protein complex relative to DNA and the subunit stoichiometry of the complex. We applied the assay to define translocational positions and sigma70 contents of bacterial transcription elongation complexes in vitro.

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

The HY5-PIF regulatory module coordinates light and temperature control of photosynthetic gene transcription [PDF]
The ability to interpret daily and seasonal alterations in light and temperature signals is essential for plant survival. This is particularly important during seedling establishment when the phytochrome photoreceptors activate photosynthetic pigment ...

Human Negative Elongation Factor Activates Transcription and Regulates Alternative Transcription Initiation [PDF]
The human negative elongation factor (NELF) is a four-subunit protein complex that inhibits the movement of RNA polymerase II (RNAPII) at an early elongation stage in vitro. NELF-mediated stalling of RNAPII also attenuates transcription of a number of inducible genes in human cells.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

UNCOVERING THE MECHANISM OF CHROMATIN ASSOCIATION OF THE PAF1 TRANSCRIPTION ELONGATION COMPLEX [PDF]
Paf1C co-localizes with Pol II and influences gene expression by regulating transcription initiation, elongation and termination. Some crucial functions of Paf1C include promoting co-transcriptional histone modifications and recruiting termination ...
