Interference of peptides and specific antibodies with the function of the Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae transferrin-binding protein

Infection and Immunity, 1997
Multiple-antigenic peptides (MAPs) containing transferrin-binding domains of the Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae serotype 7-derived transferrin-binding protein (TfbA) (K. Strutzberg, L. von Olleschik, B. Franz, C. Pyne, M. A. Schmidt, and G.-F. Gerlach, Infect. Immun. 63:3846-3850, 1995) were constructed.

Distribution of transferrin binding protein immunoreactivity in the chicken central and peripheral nervous systems

The Journal of Comparative Neurology, 1997
Transferrin binding protein (TfBP) is a glycoprotein originally purified from chicken oviduct that exhibits transferrin binding activity. Recent work has shown that TfBP is a post-translationally modified form of the heat shock protein (HSP108), the avian homologue of a glucose regulated protein, GRP94.

Transferrin Receptor Targeting Chimeras for Membrane Protein Degradation

Nature
Cancer cells require high levels of iron for rapid proliferation, leading to significant upregulation of cell-surface transferrin receptor 1 (TfR1), which mediates iron uptake by binding to the iron-carrying protein transferrin1, 2–3.
