Analysis and hardware testing of cell capacitor discharge currents during DC faults in half-bridge modular multilevel converters [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
This paper focuses on the behaviour of the cell capacitor discharge currents during DC faults in half-bridge modular multilevel converters. Active switches, not designed for fault conditions, are tripped to minimize discharge currents effect on the ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

A novel directional pilot protection method for EHV transmission lines based on S-transform and SVM

open access: yesDiscover Applied Sciences
To address the issues of insufficient reliability and low sensitivity of traveling-wave (TW)-based protection caused by fault condition attributes, i.e., fault resistance and fault angle, this paper proposes a novel directional pilot protection method ...

Transient fault behavior in a microprocessor-A case study [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings 1988 IEEE International Conference on Computer Design: VLSI, 2003
The authors describe an experimental analysis to study the susceptibility of a microprocessor-based jet engine controller (an HS 1602) to upsets caused by current and voltage transients. A design automation environment which allows the run-time injection of transients and their tracing from the device to the pin-level is described.

Targeted modulation of IGFL2‐AS1 reveals its translational potential in cervical adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cervical adenocarcinoma patients face worse outcomes than squamous cell carcinoma counterparts despite similar treatment. The identification of IGFL2‐AS1's differential expression provides a molecular basis for distinguishing these histotypes, paving the way for personalized therapies and improved survival in vulnerable populations globally.

Resonance mechanisms of a single line-to-ground fault on ungrounded systems

open access: yesArchives of Electrical Engineering, 2020
As for a single line-to-ground fault in an ungrounded distribution system, the power-frequency current is too low to detect the fault. The transient current is more palpable than that at a power-frequency of 50 or 60 Hz.

Sensor attack detection in the presence of transient faults [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the ACM/IEEE Sixth International Conference on Cyber-Physical Systems, 2015
This paper addresses the problem of detection and identification of sensor attacks in the presence of transient faults. We consider a system with multiple sensors measuring the same physical variable, where some sensors might be under attack and provide malicious values. We consider a setup, in which each sensor provides the controller with an interval

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

A Fault Detection Method for Multiterminal Flexible DC Grids Based on Current Transient Energy Rate Ratio

open access: yesInternational Transactions on Electrical Energy Systems
To address the challenge of weak fault transient characteristics in multiterminal flexible DC grids caused by transition resistance, DC reactors, and noise interference, which render traditional single-electrical-quantity detection methods ineffective ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...
