Attenuation of senile pruritus by PAC-14028-mediated downregulation of the NF-κB and MAPK pathways
Objective: Senile pruritus is a specific type of itching that occurs in elderly persons. Previously, we assessed antagonism of the nonselective ligand-gated cation channel transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1; capsaicin receptor or vanilloid ...

ABSTRACT Calcium carbonate supplements often exhibit limited solubility and gastrointestinal precipitation, restricting calcium availability. To address this limitation, an enzyme‐free pH‐shift strategy was applied to prepare Chlorella pyrenoidosa protein (CPP)/peptide–calcium complexes (pH–Ca) and to evaluate their effects on calcium utilization in ...

Cell Mechanics in Cancer: Integrating Mechanotransduction Pathways Within the Tumor Microenvironment
ABSTRACT Single‐cell mechanical properties such as stiffness, elasticity, and viscosity, are crucial in governing biological processes like migration, proliferation, and differentiation. In cancer, the mechanical properties of cells undergo significant alterations, which contribute to tumor growth, metastasis, and resistance to therapy.

Management of suspected opioid‐induced hyperalgesia in a dog
Abstract Opioid‐induced hyperalgesia is a recognised phenomenon in people, but few cases are described in veterinary patients. This case reports a dog with suspected opioid‐induced hyperalgesia after a stick injury to the mouth and neck, and subsequent surgical exploration of the ventral neck and abscess debridement.

Opioids in breast cancer: Between analgesia and modulation of tumour progression
Preclinical investigations consistently demonstrate that activation of μ‐opioid receptors and δ‐opioid receptors promote proliferation, migration, angiogenesis, epithelial‐mesenchymal transition, acquisition of cancer stem cell phenotypes, and chemoresistance.

Abstract Objective To highlight key factors required to optimize multi‐mechanistic approaches with oral combination treatments for the acute management of a migraine attack. Background Given the complex multi‐factorial nature of migraine, combining treatments with different mechanisms of action should improve outcomes compared to monotherapies, but ...

Animal Models of Hunner‐Type Interstitial Cystitis
ABSTRACT Background Animal models are crucial for mechanistic studies and therapeutic development of human diseases. At present, the etiology of interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome (IC/BPS), a chronic disease of the urinary bladder, remains undefined.

Microvascular Effects of Endocannabinoid Signaling in Sepsis: A Mechanistic and Systematic Review
ABSTRACT Microvascular dysfunction is a central determinant of organ failure in sepsis, reflecting early endothelial activation, increased permeability, and impaired capillary perfusion. Experimental evidence suggests that the endocannabinoid system (ECS) modulates these immunovascular processes, yet mechanistic insights remain dispersed across ...
