MG53 Coordinates Macrophage Polarization and Neuroimmune Coupling to Promote Corneal Nerve Regeneration via the MPEG1–MVP–STAT6 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Corneal nerve regeneration is critical to corneal wound healing processes. The current study reveals a novel role of MG53 in promoting corneal nerve regeneration after alkali induced injury. Mechanistically, MG53 enters macrophages via its receptor, MPEG1, promotes MVP K63 ubiquitination, and triggers STAT6 induced repair‐related genes expression ...

Optimized PEI‐based Transfection Method for Transient Transfection and Lentiviral Production

Current Protocols in Chemical Biology, 2017
AbstractPolyethyleneimine (PEI), a cationic polymer vehicle, forms a complex with DNA which then can carry anionic nucleic acids into eukaryotic cells. PEI‐based transfection is widely used for transient transfection of plasmid DNA. The efficiency of PEI‐based transfection is affected by numerous factors, including the way the PEI/DNA complex is ...

Transient transfection of Cryptosporidium baileyi

Parasitology International, 2017
Here we demonstrate the transient transfection of C. baileyi. We describe the transfection of this apicomplexan parasite and the cultivation in ovo. The functionality of heterologous sequences in C. baileyi was demonstrated by the expression and detection of the mCherry protein in ovo.
