Exploring the Roles of Tuna‐Associated Acinetobacter sp. YFT067: Implications for Host Health and Metabolism

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
This study firstly isolated a tuna‐derived gut probiotic Acinetobacter seifertii YFT067. Dietary administration of YFT067 played significant roles in promoting growth performance, SCFAs production, lipid absorption, and metabolism of the host, indicating YFT067 as a promising probiotic candidate for enhancing tuna aquaculture productivity through ...

Uptake and activation of eicosapentaenoic acid are related to accumulation of triacylglycerol in Ramos cells dying from apoptosis

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2000
The present study investigates the mechanism behind induction of cell death by eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) in leukemia cells. The PUFA-sensitive cell lines Raji and Ramos, which die by necrosis and apoptosis upon incubation with EPA respectively, had 2 ...

C1 Metabolism Inhibition and Nitrogen Deprivation Trigger Triacylglycerol Accumulation in Arabidopsis thaliana Cell Cultures and Highlight a Role of NPC in Phosphatidylcholine-to-Triacylglycerol Pathway

open access: yes, 2017
Triacylglycerol (TAG) accumulation often occurs in growth limiting conditions such as nutrient deprivations. We analyzed and compared the lipid contents of Arabidopsis cells grown under two conditions that inhibited growth as a way to study interactions ...

MicroRNA‐Seq Analysis Reveals a Critical Role for miR‐222 in Bovine Intramuscular Adipogenesis via the DDIT4/mTORC1 Axis

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Schematic diagram illustrating how miR‐222 promotes bovine intramuscular adipogenesis by targeting DDIT4 to activate the mTORC1 signaling pathway. ABSTRACT Intramuscular fat (IMF) is a key determinant of beef quality, particularly with respect to tenderness, flavor, and juiciness.

The small molecule fenpropimorph rapidly converts chloroplast membrane lipids to triacylglycerols in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2015
Concern about global warming has prompted an intense interest in developing economical methods of producing biofuels. Microalgae provide a promising platform for biofuel production, because they accumulate high levels of lipids, and do not compete with ...

Indole‐3‐Acetic Acid Protects Bovine Hepatocytes Against Palmitic Acid‐Induced Lipid Accumulation and ER Stress Through SIRT3

open access: yesAnimal Research and One Health, EarlyView.
Cows with ketosis during the perinatal period often experience damage to the liver, a core metabolic organ, thereby exacerbating the disease's inherent vicious cycle. This study indicates that serum 3‐IAA concentrations were reduced in ketotic cows and show a significant negative correlation with hepatic TG content.

YALI0E32769g (DGA1) and YALI0E16797g (LRO1) encode major triacylglycerol synthases of the oleaginous yeast Yarrowia lipolytica

open access: yes, 2011
The oleaginous yeast Yarrowia lipolytica has an outstanding capacity to produce and store triacylglycerols resembling adipocytes of higher eukaryotes.

Storage oil hydrolysis during early seedling growth [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Storage oil breakdown plays an important role in the life cycle of many plants by providing the carbon skeletons that support seedling growth immediately following germination.

Enzymatic synthesis of acylglycerides from agroindustrial residues: process design and simplified techno‐economic assessment

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract This study developed an enzymatic process to add value to palm oil fatty acid distillate (PFAD) and glycerol, resulting in the production of monoacylglycerides (MAG) and diacylglycerides (DAG). The biocatalyst loading (Novozym 435) and molar ratio of reagents were evaluated to obtain a suitable reaction condition in terms of space–time yield ...
