Summary Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are widespread plant symbionts that enhance nutrient acquisition and influence ecosystem productivity. Previous chromosome‐level assemblies of the model species Rhizophagus irregularis revealed a two‐compartment genome architecture (active A and repressed B chromatin compartments), yet its conservation across ...

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Palmitoylation by ZDHHC18 blocks ORF3a K27‐linked ubiquitination mediated by TRIM16, thereby preventing its proteasomal degradation and strengthening viral pathogenesis. Targeting palmitoylation through a pharmacological inhibitor (2‐BP), a competitive inhibitory peptide (OPIP), or adenovirus‐mediated knockdown of ZDHHC18 expression presents a ...

Tripartite motif-containing protein 26 promotes colorectal cancer growth by inactivating p53
Abstract Tripartite motif-containing protein 26 (TRIM26) is an E3 ubiquitin ligase that exhibits divergent roles in various cancer types (oncogenic and anti-oncogenic). This study investigates the interaction of TRIM26 with the tumor suppressor protein p53 in colorectal cancer (CRC) cells by performing a comprehensive set of ...

The E3 ubiquitin ligase TRIM2 confers neuroprotection against 6‐OHDA‐induced oxidative stress and apoptosis. It exerts this function by binding to ELAVL1 and promoting its degradation via the ubiquitin‐proteasome pathway. Thus, our study reveals the TRIM2‐ELAVL1 axis as a key regulatory mechanism for neuronal survival under 6‐OHDA‐stimulated toxic ...

Organization of Astrocytic GLT‐1 at Cortical Inhibitory Synapses
GLT‐1+ ALs frequently juxtapose symmetric synapses. Distance‐based phenotyping identifies symmetric‐ and asymmetric‐associated GLT‐1+ ALs. Distal inhibitory synapses show enriched GLT‐1/α2 couples in ALs within 1000 nm, conserved in human cortex. ABSTRACT Glutamate spillover from excitatory synapses modulates neighboring inhibitory synapses, yet the ...

Myxosortase: an intramembrane protease that sorts MYXO-CTERM proteins to the cell surface
Cell surface proteins determine how cells interact with their biotic and abiotic environments. In social myxobacteria, a C-terminal protein sorting tag called MYXO-CTERM is universally found within the Myxococcota phylum, where their genomes typically ...

This review elucidates how lactylation, a novel histone modification driven by lactate, regulates colorectal cancer pathogenesis. We summarize its roles in tumor progression, metastasis, stemness, immunosuppression, and therapy resistance, and discusses the promising therapeutic strategies of targeting the lactylation pathway.
