Oncogenic KRAS Rewires Stress Granule Dynamics: Mechanisms and Therapeutic Opportunities

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Stress granules (SGs) are dynamic, membrane‐less structures that form in response to various cellular stresses, including metabolic, oxidative, and therapeutic challenges. They function as adaptive hubs and reorganize protein synthesis and signaling networks to help cells survive under stress. In cancer, these condensates are often hijacked to

A No-Brainer! The Therapeutic Potential of TRIM Proteins in Viral and Central Nervous System Diseases

open access: yesViruses
Tripartite motif (TRIM) proteins comprise an important class of E3 ubiquitin ligases that regulate numerous biological processes including protein expression, cellular signaling pathways, and innate immunity.

TRIM16 acts as an E3 ubiquitin ligase and can heterodimerize with other TRIM family members.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
The TRIM family of proteins is distinguished by its tripartite motif (TRIM). Typically, TRIM proteins contain a RING finger domain, one or two B-box domains, a coiled-coil domain and the more variable C-terminal domains.

Pan-cancer illumination of TRIM gene family reveals immunology regulation and potential therapeutic implications

open access: yesHuman Genomics, 2022
Background The tripartite motif (TRIM) proteins function as important regulators in innate immunity, tumorigenesis, cell differentiation and ontogenetic development.

TRIM Expression and Its Association With Disease Activity in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is a chronic autoimmune disease with diverse manifestations, including rash, arthritis, and nephritis. Although autoantibodies are a key feature of SLE, their levels often poorly reflect disease severity, suggesting the involvement of additional contributing factors.

Tumor suppressor p53 cross-talks with TRIM family proteins

open access: yesGenes and Diseases, 2021
p53 is a key tumor suppressor. As a transcription factor, p53 accumulates in cells in response to various stress signals and selectively transcribes its target genes to regulate a wide variety of cellular stress responses to exert its function in tumor ...

Endocytosis‐independent cytosolic entry of messenger RNA via fluorous bilayer zippering attenuating Toll‐like receptor signaling and enables ischemic tissue salvage

open access: yesSmart Molecules, EarlyView.
The present study establishes a paradigm shift in synthetic mRNA delivery through the convergence of three orthogonal chemistries—perfluoro‐acylation, bio‐orthogonal click cross‐linking, and disulfide reduction—within a single, modular polymer architecture. Abstract A fundamental constraint of conventional messenger RNA (mRNA) delivery systems is their

TRIM32 controls timely cell cycle exit in muscular differentiation through downregulation of c‐Myc mRNA

open access: yesThe FEBS Journal, EarlyView.
Trim32 regulates the transition from proliferation to differentiation in C2C12 cells after myogenic induction. We found that, at the onset of differentiation, Trim32 destabilizes c‐Myc mRNA, promotes cell cycle exit, and enables normal myotube formation.

Exploring TRIM proteins’ role in antiviral defense against influenza A virus and respiratory coronaviruses

open access: yesFrontiers in Cellular and Infection Microbiology
Numerous tripartite motif (TRIM) proteins, identified as E3 ubiquitin ligases, participate in various viral infections through ubiquitylation, ISGylation, and SUMOylation processes.

Chopin's Craft of Musical Form: Making Romantic Music with Classical Theme Types and Galant Schemata

open access: yesMusic Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Frédéric Chopin adhered to traditional practices in musical form to a far greater extent than hitherto acknowledged. He took certain standard formal paths with remarkable consistency throughout his compositional career and across almost all his favoured genres.
