Inhibition of PLA2G15 Alleviates Palmitic Acid‐Induced Lysosomal Membrane Permeabilization in Human Nucleus Pulposus Cells During Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

open access: yesJOR SPINE, Volume 9, Issue 2, June 2026.
LMP is responsible for lysosomal dysfunction in IDD. The lipid composition changes in the lysosomal membrane, mediated by PLA2G15, are the cause of LMP. The C/EBPα significantly promotes PLA2G15 expression under PA overload stress. Inhibition of PLA2G15 alleviates PA‐induced LMP by inhibiting the hydrolysis of lysosomal membrane phospholipids. Organoids: From Bench to Bedside Applications

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
Organoids, as a groundbreaking biomedical research platform, utilize adult stem cells (ASCs), embryonic stem cells (ESCs), and induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) as sources. By integrating specific growth and differentiation signals within an extracellular matrix (e.g., Matrigel), organoids guide cells to self‐assemble into three‐dimensional ...

Multi‐Omics Reveals Early Pregnancy Placental Dysfunction Associated With Preterm and Term Preeclampsia

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 7, Issue 6, June 2026.
Preeclampsia, a severe pregnancy‐induced disorder unique to humans, affects ∼5% of pregnancies globally. To understand the pathogenesis of preeclampsia, this study performed a comprehensive multi‐omics analysis of early pregnancy placental biopsies (chorionic villus samples) from pregnancies that later developed preterm/term preeclampsia, compared to ...

Caesarean Scar Ectopic Pregnancy: A Case Study

open access: yesSonography, Volume 13, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Caesarean scar ectopic pregnancy (CSEP) occurs when a blastocyst implants into the residual scar from a previous caesarean section delivery, in the anterior lower uterine segment. In this region the endometrium is thin or absent, and may represent a dehiscence of the mucosal margin of the myometrium, with implantation into the myometrium ...

Lifestyle Intervention During Pregnancy Is Associated With Favourable Changes of Vitronectin in Women With Obesity: Results From the Randomised LiP Trial

open access: yesClinical Obesity, Volume 16, Issue 3, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Obesity in pregnancy is a well‐established risk factor for adverse maternal and neonatal outcomes, including gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). This study aimed to examine the effects of lifestyle intervention during pregnancy on the cardio‐metabolic protein profile and its association with maternal and neonatal health.
