Chronic Low‐Dose Unsymmetrical Dimethylhydrazine Exposure in Rats: Multiorgan Mechanisms and Biomarker Identification

open access: yesJournal of Applied Toxicology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Unsymmetrical dimethylhydrazine (UDMH), a highly toxic rocket propellant with known multiorgan effects, requires urgent characterization of its chronic low‐dose toxicity. Using an integrated approach including exploratory transcriptomics (n = 3/group) and metabolomic (n = 4/group) approaches in male Sprague–Dawley rats exposed to high‐dose ...

Bayesian genome-wide TWAS with reference transcriptomic data of brain and blood tissues identified 141 risk genes for Alzheimer’s disease dementia

open access: yesAlzheimer’s Research & Therapy
Background Transcriptome-wide association study (TWAS) is an influential tool for identifying genes associated with complex diseases whose genetic effects are likely mediated through transcriptome.

Atomization Characteristics of Droplet and Morphologies of Arc Sprayed Ni-Al Particles and Composition Coatings [PDF]

open access: yesMaterials Research, 2019
Droplet atomization characteristics and its morphology in twin-wire arc sprayed (TWAS) Ni-Al were explored in depth. Both numerical model and theoretical method were built for calculating the process of the droplet deformation and breakup in air flow ...

From GWAS to Gene: Transcriptome-Wide Association Studies and Other Methods to Functionally Understand GWAS Discoveries

open access: yesFrontiers in Genetics, 2021
Since their inception, genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have identified more than a hundred thousand single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) loci that are associated with various complex human diseases or traits.

Integrative Genomics Reveals Causal Pleiotropy and Therapeutic Opportunities at the Interface of Acute Pancreatitis and Infection

open access: yesJournal of Hepato-Biliary-Pancreatic Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Understanding the genetic links between acute pancreatitis (AP) and its infectious comorbidities is crucial for prognosis and therapy, yet remains underexplored. Methods We conducted a comprehensive post‐GWAS analysis using large‐scale summary statistics for AP and 16 infectious diseases. To pinpoint pleiotropic genes, we integrated

Multi-context genetic modeling of transcriptional regulation resolves novel disease loci

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Transcriptome-wide association studies (TWAS) often ignore the specificity and sharing of effects across contexts (e.g., tissues). Here, the authors describe a method to split genetic effects into context-shared and context-specific terms.

Synthesis and Characterization of Citrus Reticulata Capped Ag–ZnO Nanoparticles: Effects of Growth Temperature

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), EarlyView.
This research presents a facile green synthesis of silver doped zinc oxide nanoparticles using Citrus reticulata peel extract. The cost effective route was used to obtained nanoparticles at different growth temperatures and investigated their material properties for their potential application in solar cells due to their observed narrow bandgap of 2.84

Identification of Paramagnetic Centers in Irradiated F‐Doped Silica by First‐Principle Calculations

open access: yesphysica status solidi (a), EarlyView.
By means of first‐principle calculations of EPR parameters and energy barriers, two alternative structural models (2fSi‐F and E′F), which could explain the E′(F) center responsible for a 10.5 mT hyperfine doublet in irradiated F‐doped silica glass, are here investigated. Present results provide evidence in favor of the 2fSi‐F model.

Integrating transcriptome-wide study and mRNA expression profiles yields novel insights into the biological mechanism of chondropathies

open access: yesArthritis Research & Therapy, 2019
Background Chondropathies are a group of cartilage diseases, which share some common pathogenetic features. The etiology of chondropathies is still largely obscure now.

Thailand's Pursuit of Global Arboriculture: Worlding Aspirations and Introspective Learning for Urban Tree Care

open access: yesAsia Pacific Viewpoint, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mobilising world‐leading expertise is crucial for addressing urban challenges. In recent years, Thai civic actors have introduced specialist arboricultural expertise to improve tree care practices in Bangkok and other Thai cities. However, despite adequate technical and administrative support, setbacks and conflicts emerged.
