Laparoscopic Delivery of a MnO2‐P‐ICG Patch for Photodynamic Therapy and NK Cell‐Driven Immunotherapy in Hepatocellular Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 32, 9 June 2026.
This study proposes a flexible MnO2‐P‐ICG nanofiber patch for laparoscopic treatment of liver tumors. The patch alleviates tumor hypoxia and induces photodynamic therapy (PDT) triggered immunogenic cell death, thereby activating the cGAS‐STING pathway and, in synergy with pachymaran, promoting NK cell–mediated innate immunity. This synergistic strategy

Characterization and prevention of the “small-for-size” syndrome in a porcine model of hepatic transplant [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The hypothesis of this doctoral thesis is two-fold: 1. Excessive portal vein flow is present immediately after portal reperfusion in the recipient and is the instigating factors in a series of events that ultimately lead to the development of “small-for ...

Hepatocyte growth factor/c‐Met signaling axis in human diseases: Mechanistic insights and therapeutic potential

open access: yesJournal of Cell Communication and Signaling, Volume 20, Issue 2, June 2026.
Figure 1 visually summarizes the core biological functions and therapeutic potential of the HGF/c‐Met signaling axis. Abstract Hepatocyte growth factor (HGF) is a multifunctional cytokine that activates the tyrosine kinase activity of its specific receptor, c‐Met (mesenchymal–epithelial transition factor).

Glutathione peroxidase 3 preserves hepatocyte mitochondrial quality control to enhance macrophage pro‐regenerative phenotype during liver regeneration

open access: yesClinical and Translational Medicine, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
(1) GPX3 inhibits VDAC1 oligomerisation by directly binding to it. (2) The loss of GPX3 leads to VDAC1 oligomerisation, resulting in dysregulation of mitochondrial quality control, characterised by enhanced fission, weakened fusion and impaired autophagy.

Tuning the Affinity of Chimeric Antigen Receptors Enhances the Function of Human Engineered Regulatory T Cells

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 6, June 2026.
Affinity tuning of anti‐HLA‐A2 CARs reveals that lower‐affinity CAR‐Tregs exhibit reduced avidity and enhanced serial engagement, leading to increased activation and trogocytosis. These properties promote improved tissue infiltration, persistence, and survival in vivo, demonstrating that optimizing receptor–antigen dynamics enhances the therapeutic ...

Operative Results and Oncologic Outcomes of Associating Liver Partition and Portal Vein Ligation for Staged Hepatectomy (ALPPS) Versus Two-Stage Hepatectomy (TSH) in Patients with Unresectable Colorectal Liver Metastases: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

open access: yes, 2018
Background: Associating liver partition and portal vein ligation for staged hepatectomy (ALPPS) has recently emerged as a treatment choice for patients with colorectal liver metastases (CLM) and inadequate future liver remnant (FLR).

INTENSIVE CARE OF PATIENT WITH TWO-STAGE LIVER TRANSPLANTATION- CASE REPORT

open access: yesZdravniški Vestnik, 2014
A two-stage liver transplantation is a procedure where total hepatectomy is followed by temporary anastomosis of the vena portae with the inferior vena cava. It was shown to be successful as a bridge procedure in patients who are awaiting emergency liver

2 stage hepatectomy with ALPPS technique (liver splitting association) with ligature portal for hepatectomy in 2 times). Experience and initial results of the Regional Hospital of Talca

open access: yes, 2018
Introduction: Postoperative liver failure (POLF) is a relevant cause of morbimortality after liver surgery. An insufficient future liver remnant (FLR) is one of the main causes of POLF.

N6‐Methyladenosine (m6A) in Liver Disease: Pathogenic Mechanisms and Therapeutic Potential

open access: yesiNew Medicine, Volume 2, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Accumulating evidence highlights the critical role of epigenetic modifications, particularly N6‐methyladenosine (m6A), in liver disease. As the most abundant RNA modification in eukaryotic cells, m6A is dynamically regulated by multicomponent m6A methyltransferases (e.g., METTL3 and METTL14), demethylases (FTO and ALKBH5), and m6A‐binding ...
