Uncoating of adenovirus type 2

Journal of Virology, 1979
The uncoating of adenovirus type 2 and a temperature-sensitive mutant, tsl, was studied. HEp-2 cells were infected with 32P- OR 125I-labeled purified virions for various lengths of time, and the nuclear and cytoplasmic fractions were analyzed by sucrose gradient velocity sedimentation and sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacryl-amide gel electrophoresis ...

Uncoating of vaccinia virus

Journal of Virology, 1985
Input vaccinia virus deoxyribonucleoproteids with buoyant densities (in CsCl) very similar (if not identical) to those of viral cores have been found in large cytoplasmic structures in which viral DNA replication takes place. The deoxyribonucleoproteids consist of at least five major and two minor core proteins and viral DNA which is protected against ...

Lysosomes and the problem of adenovirus uncoating

Experimental and Molecular Pathology, 1970
Abstract The possible role of lysosomal enzymes in adenovirus uncoating has been investigated. Lysosomes were isolated from guinea pig liver, and a total lysosomal extract was in vitro assayed on adenovirus particles and its structural antigens. Adenovirus capsid and morphological subunits were insensitive to lysosomal enzymes.

A Purification Method by Uncoated Charcoal

1987
The persistent state of sickness of patients in periodical dialysis, has been attributed, during the last years, to the retention of “uremic toxins” never identified with certainty. Parathyroid hormone, guanidinic compounds, aromatic substances, indacan, middle molecules, etc.have been proposed at various times the specific molecule responsible of the ...

Cytoplasmic localization of the uncoating of picornaviruses

Virology, 1979
Abstract Early echovirus 12-cell interactions were studied by electron microscopy. Use was made of 2-thio-4-oxothiazolidine, rhodanine, a selective inhibitor of uncoating of the virus. Since the resolution of conventional ultrathin sections was too limited, combined autoradiography and electron microscopy was applied with the aid of highly purified [

Uncoating of two spherical plant viruses

Virology, 1972
Abstract Chinese cabbage leaves were inoculated with 32P-labeled TYMV, and barley leaves with 32P-labeled BMV. At various times after inoculation, the proportion of uncoated viral RNA was estimated. In both cases, the uncoating process takes place very soon after inoculation. With TYMV it has been observed that both the rate of uncoating and its time

Uncoating of Plant Clathrin Coated Vesicles by Uncoating ATPase from Peas

1993
In plants, clathrin coated vesicles are involved in the transport of proteins to the vacuole/protein body (Harley, 1989). This transport system requires a mechanism for uncoating the clathrin from the vesicle prior to or concomitant with fusion of the vesicle with the target membrane and deposition of the cargo proteins.

Enterovirus entry and uncoating

Enteroviruses (EVs), belonging to picornaviruses, contain several medically important viruses, such as polioviruses (PVs), coxsackieviruses, numbered EVs, and rhinoviruses. Many findings about entry and uncoating of PVs were originally thought to be shared by all EVs, but recent research has revealed that, despite very similar structures and genomes ...
