Synthesis of Cyclopropene‐Modified Fatty Acids Allows Single‐Cell Quantification of Uptake by Immune Cells

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Cyclopropene fatty acids have been made that allow the study of fatty acid uptake in complex mixtures of immune cells with single cell resolution and combined with metabolic and proteomic analysis so that for the first time nutrient uptake can be correlated to the phenotype of single immune cell.

Cis-trans isomerization of unsaturated fatty acids in edible oils to prepare trans fat

open access: yesGrasas y Aceites, 2018
Trans fats, unsaturated fatty acids with at least one double bond in the trans configuration, have received a great amount of attention in the field of oleo chemistry and safety.

Vegetables, unsaturated fats, moderate alcohol intake, and mild cognitive impairment

open access: yes, 2010
Background/Aims: To investigate associations of the Mediterranean diet (MeDi) components and the MeDi score with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Methods: Participants (aged 70-89 years) were clinically evaluated to assess MCI and dementia, and completed

H2S‐Amplified “Three‐in‐One” Antibacterial Strategy for Periodontitis Treatment Using a Photosensitive Pillararene‐Embedded COF/MOF Hybrid

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The integration of ROS‐generating systems with H2S depletion strategies effectively overcomes the limitations imposed by endogenous antioxidant defenses on ROS‐based antimicrobial therapies. In this study, the Cu‐MOF is incorporated into pillararene‐embedded COF, achieving a “three‐in‐one” antimicrobial effect that markedly alleviated periodontal ...

Synergistic Lewis Acid Photocatalysis Over Cluster‐Defect‐Engineered UiO‐66 for Efficient Liquid Biomass Upgrading

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
A cluster‐defect engineering strategy is presented for the rational design of Zn‐incorporated UiO‐66 photocatalysts. Selective acid etching mediates hierarchical porosity and abundant Lewis acid sites, tailoring the electronic structure and enhancing light harvesting.

Encapsulation of fatty acids in ruminant nutrition for improved meat and milk quality: A review

open access: yesThe EuroBiotech Journal
In recent years, the methods of producing protected fat supplements for feed have greatly developed. As a means of preserving unsaturated fats from oxidation, encapsulation has been used by food industry researchers to reduce unpleasant odor and taste ...

CEBPG‐Mediated Palmitic Acid Adaptation of Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts Drives Metastasis of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals a metabolic signaling axis in the OSCC microenvironment where palmitic acid (PA) drives the activation of CAFs. PA uptake triggers CEBPG‐dependent epigenetic remodeling to upregulate ERN1 and TMBIM6, thereby mitigating ER stress. This adaptive program sustains CAF survival and the pro‐metastatic phenotype, establishing this pathway ...

Nutritive value of linseed oil in poultry diets

open access: yesItalian Journal of Animal Science, 2011
Energy content of the diets is the major factor that affect feed intake in poultry. Fats and oils are the most concentrated sources of energy, but also those from which the availability and, therefore, the metabolizable energy content show the greatest ...
