CDG due to Defective Membrane Transporters: Update

open access: yesJournal of Inherited Metabolic Disease, Volume 49, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Congenital disorders of glycosylation are genetic defects in the glycoprotein and glycolipid glycan assembly and attachment. Some 200 CDG have been reported since the first clinical description in 1980. Most CDG are enzymatic deficiencies, but 13 (6.5%) are defects in the ER, Golgi apparatus (GA), and plasma membrane transporters.

Parallel identification of O-GlcNAc-modified proteins from cell lysates [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
We report a new strategy for the parallel identification of O-GlcNAc-glycosylated proteins from cell lysates. The approach permits specific proteins of interest to be rapidly interrogated for the modification in any tissue or cell type and can be ...

Influence of Hydro‐ and Halopriming on Seed Germination Traits and Early Metabolic Profiles at the Two‐Leaf Stage in Common Bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)

open access: yesInternational Journal of Agronomy, Volume 2026, Issue 1, 2026.
Common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is a nutritionally important legume and a major dietary source of macro‐ and micronutrients for millions of people, particularly in developing regions. However, its early growth stages are highly vulnerable to abiotic and biotic stresses, often resulting in poor germination and seedling establishment.

Microbial exopolysaccharide production by polyextremophiles in the adaptation to multiple extremes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, Volume 599, Issue 23, Page 3417-3443, December 2025.
Polyextremophiles are microorganisms that endure multiple extreme conditions by various adaptation strategies that also include the production of exopolysaccharides (EPSs). This review provides an integrated perspective on EPS biosynthesis, function, and regulation in these organisms, emphasizing their critical role in survival and highlighting their ...

Characterization of GDP-mannose Pyrophosphorylase from Escherichia Coli O157:H7 EDL933 and Its Broad Substrate Specificity

open access: yes, 2005
GDP-mannose pyrophosphorylase gene (ManC) of Escherichia coli (E. coli) O157 was cloned and expressed as a highly soluble protein in E. coli BL21 (DE3). The enzyme was subsequently purified using hydrophobic and ion exchange chromatographies. ManC showed
