Elucidating the Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Diabetic Properties of Urolithin Bioactive Metabolites from Pecan [PDF]
. Pecans are a rich source of ellagitannins which are not absorbed by humans, rather they are catabolized into urolithins by human gut microbiota and enterohepatic circulation.

Aging of Skeletal Muscle: From Molecular Mechanisms to Therapeutic Interventions
Skeletal muscle aging is driven by coordinated local breakdown across myofibers, stem and stromal cells, immune and vascular compartments, and neuromuscular control. These mechanisms promote mitochondrial dysfunction, inflammation, senescence, impaired regeneration, fibrosis, myosteatosis, denervation, and functional decline.

Polyphenol‐Rich Foods as a Healthy and Sustainable Strategy: Mental Health and Metabolomic Profiling
A 12‐week nutritional intervention with cocoa flavanols and red‐berry anthocyanins in older adults improved emotional well‐being and identified metabolomic signatures associated with the intervention through urinary metabolome profiling. ABSTRACT The so‑called demographic transition has increased the prevalence of chronic diseases in adults over 65 ...

Ellagic acid potentiates RSL3‐induced ferroptosis in PANC‐1 by suppressing the Nrf2/HO‐1 antioxidant defense axis via p38 MAPK activation and Keap1 upregulation. In PDAC cells, constitutive Nrf2/HO‐1 signaling establishes a robust antioxidant shield (GPX4, HO‐1) that limits lipid ROS accumulation and confers ferroptosis resistance.

ABSTRACT Background Radiotherapy remains a cornerstone of cancer treatment, while its efficacy is often limited by tumor radioresistance and the risk of normal tissue toxicity. Conventional preclinical models, including two‐dimensional (2D) cell cultures and murine xenografts, exhibit significant limitations in recapitulating human tumor ...

Microbial method for reproducing the human urolithin metabotypes in vitro and in vivo
The present invention relates to a new bacterial strain and a new urolithin named urolithin G. The new strain of the invention is Enterocloster bolteae CEBAS S4A9 DSM 34392 and can customize urolithin production to mimic metabotype A and metabotype B in ...
