Serotypes, Antibiotic Susceptibility, Genotypic Virulence Profiles and SpaA Variants of Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae Strains Isolated from Pigs in Poland

open access: yesPathogens, 2023
The aim of the study was phenotypic and genotypic characterization of Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae strains isolated from diseased pigs in Poland and comparison of the SpaA (Surface protective antigen A) sequence of wild-type strains with the sequence of ...

Molecular Evolution of Dengue Virus 3 in Senegal between 2009 and 2022: Dispersal Patterns and Implications for Prevention and Therapeutic Countermeasures

open access: yesVaccines, 2023
Dengue fever is the most prevalent arboviral disease worldwide. Dengue virus (DENV), the etiological agent, is known to have been circulating in Senegal since 1970, though for a long time, virus epidemiology was restricted to the circulation of sylvatic ...

Validation of TaqMan-Based Assays for Specific Detection and Differentiation of Wild-Type and Neethling Vaccine Strains of LSDV

open access: yesMicroorganisms, 2021
Lumpy skin disease (LSD) is an important animal disease with significant health and economic impacts. It is considered a notifiable disease by the OIE. Attenuated strains of LSDV have been successfully used as vaccines (LAV) but can also produce mild or ...

Toxigence of anthrax vaccine strains

open access: yesUkrainian journal of veterinary sciences, 2020
The article presents the results of the studying of anthrax strains and Bacillus anthracis-like strains on the formation of toxins. We found that anthrax vaccine strains actively produce exotoxins to the culture fluid. The amount of specific protein is different under the same incubation conditions and depends on the individual characteristics of the ...

New insights about vaccine effectiveness: Impact of attenuated PRRS-strain vaccination on heterologous strain transmission [PDF]

open access: yesVaccine, 2020
Vaccination is the main tool for controlling infectious diseases in livestock. Yet current vaccines only provide partial protection raising concerns about vaccine effectiveness in the field. Two successive transmission trials were performed involving 52 pigs to evaluate the effectiveness of a Porcine Reproductive and Respiratory Syndrome (PRRS ...

Cross-reactive humoral immunity of clade 2 Oka and MAV/06 strain-based varicella vaccines against different clades of varicella–zoster virus

open access: yesHuman Vaccines & Immunotherapeutics, 2023
The currently used Japanese Oka and Korean MAV/06-attenuated varicella vaccine strains belong to clade 2 genotype varicella–zoster viruses (VZV). More than seven clades of VZV exist worldwide.

Candidate cytomegalovirus strain for human vaccination [PDF]

open access: yesInfection and Immunity, 1975
A strain of human cytomegalovirus called Towne was isolated in WI-38 human fibrolast cell cultures from the urine of an infected infant. It was then passaged 125 times in WI-38, including three clonings, and a pool was prepared in the same cell substrate for use as a potential live attenuated vaccine.

Genetic Characterization of Measles Vaccine Strains [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Infectious Diseases, 2011
AbstractThe complete genomic sequences of 9 measles vaccine strains were compared with the sequence of the Edmonston wild-type virus. AIK-C, Moraten, Rubeovax, Schwarz, and Zagreb are vaccine strains of the Edmonston lineage, whereas CAM-70, Changchun-47, Leningrad-4 and Shanghai-191 were derived from 4 different wild-type isolates.
