Effects of cadmium and lead on the growth and the activity of peroxidase and superoxide dismutase of blueberry plantlets in vitro

open access: yesBiologia Plantarum, 2020
To study the effects of cadmium and lead on the growth of blueberry (Vaccinium ashei Reade) plantlets in vitro and on the activity of peroxidase (POD) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) of blueberry shoots, Cd2+ and Pb2+ were added separately to a ...

Effect ofVaccinium ashei readeLeaf Extracts on Lipid Metabolism in Obese OLETF Rats

open access: yesBioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, 2011
The effects of a hot water extract and fractional extracts from rabbiteye blueberry (Vaccinium ashei reade) leaves (BBL) on lipid metabolism were studied in obese Otsuka Long-Evans Tokushima Fatty (OLETF) rats. Feeding the hot water extract and fractional extracts from BBL alleviated hepatic triglyceride accumulation in the rats.

Characterization of blueberry cultivar ‘climax’

open access: yesActa Scientiarum: Biological Sciences, 2018
The objective of this work was to characterize the blueberry (Vaccinium spp.) cultivar Climax, Rabbiteye group (Vaccinium ashei Reade). In order to achieve that, a survey with blueberry plants (cultivar Climax), in full production, was conducted ...

Randomly Amplified Polymorphic DNA Fingerprinting for Identifying Rabbiteye Blueberry (Vaccinium ashei Reade) Cultivars [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Society for Horticultural Science, 1995
Cultivars of the economically important rabbiteye blueberry (Vaccinium ashei Reade) were differentiated at the DNA level using the technique of randomly amplified polymorphic DNA. Single decanucleotide primers of arbitrary sequence were used to amplify genomic DNA by the polymerase chain ...

Production of Anthocyanins, Carotenoids, and Proanthocyanidins by Cultured Cells of Rabbiteye Blueberry (Vaccinium asheiReade)

open access: yesBioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry, 1993
Two types of cell lines, a red-cell predominant line and a yellow-cell predominant one, were selected from secondary callus of rabbiteye blueberry (Vaccinium ashei Reade) leaf, and subcultured in the light and in the dark, respectively. Cultures of the red-cell line produced anthocyanins and the composition was simple as compared with that of the ...

Short-Term Flooding Effects on Gas Exchange and Quantum Yield of Rabbiteye Blueberry (Vaccinium ashei Reade) [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Physiology, 1986
Roots of 1.5-year-old ;Woodard' rabbiteye blueberry plants (Vaccinium ashei Reade) were flooded in containers or maintained at container capacity over a 5-day period. Carbon assimilation, and stomatal and residual conductances were monitored on one fully expanded shoot/plant using an open flow gas analysis system.

Cuticular Waxes of Developing Leaves and Fruit of Blueberry, Vaccinium ashei Reade cv. Bluegem1

open access: yesJournal of the American Society for Horticultural Science, 1979
Abstract An ultrastructural and chemical study of the cuticular waxes from leaves and fruits of rabbiteye blue-berry was conducted in North Central Florida between March and November 1977. Leaf epicuticular wax con-centration was relatively constant (75-83 µ g/cm

Multiplicação fotoautotrófica de mirtilo através do uso de luz natural Photoautotrophic multiplication of blueberry by using natural light
