Adipocyte Myoglobin Is a Determinant of Energy Expenditure and a Potential Target to Limit Obesity
Myoglobin, known as a muscle oxygen‐carrying protein, is shown to play a key role in fat cells that burn energy. Loss of myoglobin reduces the body's ability to generate heat and increases obesity risk, while restoring it improves metabolism. The study identifies myoglobin as a regulator of fat burning and a potential target to enhance energy ...

Under 660 nm visible light, Ru NCs efficiently photocatalyze nitrate‐to‐ammonium conversion and modulate oral nitrogen metabolism. They precisely perturb Veillonella parvula, block its key support to Porphyromonas gingivalis, and exert an “inhibiting without killing” antivirulence effect.

THE SOLUBILITY OF d-VALINE IN WATER [PDF]
1. The solubility of d-valine in water has been determined over a range of 0–60°. 2. The solubility of this amino acid varies with the mode of crystallization, indicating a dependence of solubility on the crystal form.

A non‐invasive periodontitis diagnosis platform was developed using Au nanoparticles‐decorated mesoporous Cr2O3 (Au@mCr2O3) particles with Schwarz P surface as matrix for saliva metabolic fingerprinting (SMFs) analysis via MALDI‐MS. With the assistance of machine learning of SMFs, this platform enables efficient diagnosis and the screening of potential

A novel multiscale MD/DFT framework to elucidate microenzyme adsorption and electron transfer is reported. This method reveals distinct configurations for microperoxidase‐11 on graphene and those best suited for electron transfer. Rate constants align with the limited experimental data, establishing this framework as a tool for optimizing microenzyme ...

SiDT1 Defines Plant Architecture Reminiscent of Green Revolution in Foxtail Millet
SiDT1 encodes a GA3‐oxidase that creates a semi‐dwarf, lodging‐resistant architecture reminiscent of the rice Green Revolution. The resulting ideotype performs well under dense planting and provides a valuable genetic resource for high‐yield, mechanized foxtail millet production. ABSTRACT Foxtail millet (Setaria italica) is a drought‐tolerant C4 cereal

Valine Requirement for Reproduction in Swine
Five levels of L-valine [3.3 (basal), 5.5, 7.8, 10.1 and 12.4 g/d] were fed to gilts from one estrus before mating through two pregnancies and for 30 d of a third pregnancy. Five litter-mate outcome groups of five animals each were allocated randomly to the diet treatments. Animals were individually fed 1.82 kg/d premating and during pregnancy.
