Mechanisms of hypoxic vasodilation in ferret pulmonary arteries

open access: yes, 1995
To investigate the mechanism of hypoxic pulmonary vasodilation we measured isometric tension in rings from ferret third- to fifth-generation intrapulmonary arteries mounted in organ baths (37 degrees C, 28% O2-5% CO2).

Blood pressure effects of SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP‐1 receptor agonists: Mechanisms, trial evidence and Real‐world data

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP‐1 receptor agonists modestly lower blood pressure across diverse patient populations, including those without diabetes. These effects appear largely independent of glycaemic control and offer additive value in high‐risk patients with overlapping comorbidities.

Role of adenosine in exercise vasodilation in dog gracilis muscle

open access: yes, 1980
Theophylline, quinidine, and dipyridamole were used to evaluate the role of adenosine in exercise vasodilation in dog gracilis muscles perfused at low, constant flow.

Efficacy, safety and cost‐effectiveness of CAR‐T therapy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
CAR T‐cells demonstrate high efficacy in blood cancers, including ALL, MM and DLBCL. Innovations target solid tumours despite challenges such as antigen escape. Combination therapies enhance the delivery and infiltration of CAR T cells. Toxicity, cost and resistance remain major barriers to clinical use.

Atomically precise metal cluster enzymes for pathological tissue regeneration

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of atomically precise metal cluster enzymes (MCEs) for pathological tissue regeneration. Atomically precise MCEs can modulate biological processes, such as attenuation of inflammatory responses, eradication of bacterial pathogens, regulation of angiogenesis, and promotion of cell development.

Impaired Peripheral Vascular Function Following Ischemic Stroke in Mice: Potential Insights into Blood Pressure Variations in the Post-Stroke Patient

open access: yesPathophysiology
High systolic blood pressure and increased blood pressure variability after the onset of ischemic stroke are associated with poor clinical outcomes. One of the key determinants of blood pressure is arteriolar size, determined by vascular smooth muscle ...

Lafutidine Facilitates Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide (CGRP) Nerve-Mediated Vasodilation via Vanilloid-1 Receptors in Rat Mesenteric Resistance Arteries

open access: yesJournal of Pharmacological Sciences, 2008
Lafutidine is a histamine H2-receptor antagonist with gastric antisecretory and gastroprotective activity associated with activation of capsaicin-sensitive nerves.

EDRF and norepinephrine-induced vasodilation in the canine coronary circulation

open access: yes, 1995
Experiments were performed to characterize the role of endothelium-derived relaxing factor (EDRF) in coronary vasodilation caused by norepinephrine.

Neurovascular coupling in bone regeneration: Mechanisms, advanced biomaterials and challenges

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
This figure illustrates various material strategies for neurovascularized bone regeneration, including electroactive scaffolds, ion‐loaded materials, drug delivery systems, surface modifications, cells/cell products, growth factors, and peptides. These approaches aim to synergistically promote the regeneration of neural, vascular, and bone tissues ...
