Classical Ising model test for quantum circuits

open access: yes, 2009
We exploit a recently constructed mapping between quantum circuits and graphs in order to prove that circuits corresponding to certain planar graphs can be efficiently simulated classically.

Modeling hepatic fibrosis in TP53 knockout iPSC‐derived human liver organoids

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study developed iPSC‐derived human liver organoids with TP53 gene knockout to model human liver fibrosis. These organoids showed elevated myofibroblast activation, early disease markers, and advanced fibrotic hallmarks. The use of profibrotic differentiation medium further amplified the fibrotic signature seen in the organoids.

SmartTrack: Efficient Predictive Race Detection

open access: yes, 2020
Widely used data race detectors, including the state-of-the-art FastTrack algorithm, incur performance costs that are acceptable for regular in-house testing, but miss races detectable from the analyzed execution.

Inhibition of CDK9 enhances AML cell death induced by combined venetoclax and azacitidine

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The CDK9 inhibitor AZD4573 downregulates c‐MYC and MCL‐1 to induce death of cytarabine (AraC)‐resistant AML cells. This enhances VEN + AZA‐induced cell death significantly more than any combination of two of the three drugs in AraC‐resistant AML cells.

Sequential fault diagnosis for mechatronics system using diagnostic hybrid bond graph and composite harmony search

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2015
This article proposes a sequential fault diagnosis method to handle asynchronous distinct faults using diagnostic hybrid bond graph and composite harmony search. The faults under consideration include fault mode, abrupt fault, and intermittent fault. The

Survivin and Aurora Kinase A control cell fate decisions during mitosis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aurora A interacts with survivin during mitosis and regulates its centromeric role. Loss of Aurora A activity mislocalises survivin, the CPC and BubR1, leading to disruption of the spindle checkpoint and triggering premature mitotic exit, which we refer to as ‘mitotic slippage’.

Size-Dependent Tile Self-Assembly: Constant-Height Rectangles and Stability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
We introduce a new model of algorithmic tile self-assembly called size-dependent assembly. In previous models, supertiles are stable when the total strength of the bonds between any two halves exceeds some constant temperature.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

A Computer Aided Kineto-Static Analysis Method for 3-RRRT Parallel Manipulator Based on Vector Bond Graph [PDF]

open access: yesThe Open Automation and Control Systems Journal, 2013
For improving the reliability and efficiency of the kineto-static analysis of complex robot systems, the corre- sponding vector bond graph procedure is proposed. By the kinematic constraint condition, the vector bond graph model of universal joint are made. Based on this, the vector bond model of 3-RRRT parallel Manipulator is built.

Modeling Stiffness and Damping in Rotational Degrees of Freedom Using Multibond Graphs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
A contribution is proposed for the modeling of mechanical systems using multibond graphs. When modeling a physical system, it may be needed to catch the dynamic behavior contribution of the joints between bodies of the system and therefore to ...
