Comparative analysis of diagnostic significance of biomarkers’ panels in cardiac recipients in the long term period after transplantation

open access: yesВестник трансплантологии и искусственных органов, 2017
Aim. To perform comparative analysis of the diagnostic efficacy of sCD40L, PDGF-BB, VEGF-A and ST2 in recipients with cardiac rejection in different periods after transplantation. Materials and methods. The study included 144 cardiac recipients aged from

Mutated TP53 is a marker of increased VEGF expression: analysis of 7,525 pan-cancer tissues. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Anti-angiogenic therapies are an important class of anti-cancer treatment drugs. However, their efficacy is limited to certain tumors and would benefit from identifying a biomarker predictive of therapeutic response.

Peribiliary glands are key in regeneration of the human biliary epithelium after severe bile duct injury [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Peribiliary glands (PBG) are a source of stem/progenitor cells organized in a cellular network encircling large bile ducts. Severe cholangiopathy with loss of luminal biliary epithelium has been proposed to activate PBG, resulting in cell proliferation ...

Vascular endothelial growth factor attenuates enhanced spontaneous transdifferentiation of classical and intermediate monocytes in patients with ischemic cardiomyopathy

open access: yesСеченовский вестник
Aim. To evaluate the effect of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A) on the subpopulation composition of monocytes in the blood mononuclear cell culture of patients with coronary heart disease (CHD), with and without ischemic cardiomyopathy (ICMP)

Regulation of VEGF-A expression and VEGF-A-targeted therapy in malignant tumors

open access: yesJournal of Cancer Research and Clinical Oncology
AbstractVascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), a highly conserved dimeric glycoprotein, is a key regulatory gene and a marker molecule of angiogenesis. The upregulation of VEGF-A facilitates the process of tumor vascularization, thereby fostering the initiation and progression of malignant neoplasms.

Local origins impart conserved bone type-related differences in human osteoblast behaviour [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Osteogenic behaviour of osteoblasts from trabecular, cortical and subchondral bone were examined to determine any bone type-selective differences in samples from both osteoarthritic (OA) and osteoporotic (OP) patients.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...
