The role of angio-/lymphangiogenic factors VEGF, VEGF-C and VEGF-D during cervical carcinogenesis and their use for diagnostics

open access: yes, 2009
Angiogenese und Lymphangiogenese haben sich in den letzten Jahrzehnten als hoch bedeutsam für die Entstehung und Progression von Tumorerkrankungen erwiesen.

Bone Organoids Across the Development‐to‐Remodeling Continuum: From Tissue Formation to Functional Competence and Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Mineralization alone does not establish a mature bone organoid. This Review integrates biological foundations, materials design, adaptive remodeling, and translational validation through the development‐to‐remodeling continuum (DRC). By separating biological functions from the evidence supporting them, the framework exposes critical gaps in current ...

The prognostic value of detection of serum VEGF-C level and lymphangiogenesis in mediastinal lymph nodes in the patients with lung cancer

open access: yesChinese Journal of Lung Cancer, 2008
Background and objective There is still lack of special prognostic factor on lung cancer, this study will explore the prognostic value of serum VEGF-C level and lymphangiogenesis of primary cancer and mediastinal lymph nodes in the patients with lung ...

Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) receptor-2 signaling mediates VEGF-C(deltaNdeltaC)- and VEGF-A-induced angiogenesis in vitro

open access: yes, 2003
Angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis are regulated by members of the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family of cytokines, which mediate their effects via tyrosine kinase VEGF receptors -1, -2, and -3.

Bioprinted Stiffness‑Tunable Pancreatic Microniches to Decode Early Tumor Initiation Mechanisms

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Stiffness‐tunable GelMA microniches generated by microvalve bioprinting preserve wild‐type acinar identity while revealing a nonlinear, Kras‐dependent response to matrix mechanics. Intermediate stiffness promotes acinar‐to‐ductal metaplasia and proliferation, defining a permissive mechanical window.

MMP13 Regulates Aggressiveness of Pediatric Multiple Myeloma Through VEGF-C

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2015
Background/Aims: Even though the blood and lymphatic vascular systems are both involved in the occurrence of cancer metastases, it is believed that lymphatic system is primarily responsible for the initial metastasis.

Biocompatible Conjugated Electrospinning Nanofibrous Membrane With Self‐Powered Piezoelectric Capacity for Accelerated Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A self‐powered PCL/gelatin‐PVDF‐TrFE/MXene conjugated electrospun membrane integrates biocompatibility with enhanced piezoelectric responsiveness. Mechanical deformation is converted into localized electrical signals that stimulate wound‐repair cells proliferation and migration, promote angiogenesis and tissue remodeling, and accelerate full‐thickness ...

Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor (VEGF-C) Protein Expression Related with Lymphangiogensis in Iraqi Cervical Cancer Patients

open access: yesAl-Mustansiriyah Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2019
Objective: Metastatic spread of tumor cells to distant organs is the leading cause of mortality from cancer. Although metastatic tumor spread can occur via a different mechanism. lymphangiogenic factors recognized were vascular endothelial growth factor

Neuropilin-2 mediates VEGF-C–induced lymphatic sprouting together with VEGFR3

open access: yes, 2010
Vascular sprouting is a key process-driving development of the vascular system. In this study, we show that neuropilin-2 (Nrp2), a transmembrane receptor for the lymphangiogenic vascular endothelial growth factor C (VEGF-C), plays an important role in ...
