Angiotensin II Type 1 Receptor (AT-1R) Expression Correlates with VEGF-A and VEGF-D Expression in Invasive Ductal Breast Cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Recent studies point to the involvement of angiotensin II (Ang II) receptor type 1 (AT-1R) on processes of metastasing, stimulation of invasiveness and angiogenesis in tumours.

Lymphangiogenesis and lymph node metastasis in breast cancer [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
Introduction There have been few studies on lymphangiogenesis in the past due to the lack of specific lymphatic endothelial markers, and lymphatic-specific growth factors.

Association between VEGF-A, C and D Expression and lymph Node Involvement in Breast Cancer: A Meta-Analysis

open access: yesThe International Journal of Biological Markers, 2016
Background Metastasis is the primary cause of death in patients with breast cancer. Although VEGF-A, C and D are considered to be prime factors in lymph node metastasis in breast cancer, the published studies have conflicting conclusions.

Angiogenic gene expression and vascular density are reflected in ultrasonographic features of synovitis in early Rheumatoid Arthritis: an observational study. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
INTRODUCTION: Neovascularization contributes to the development of sustained synovial inflammation in the early stages of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Ultrasound (US) provides an indirect method of assessing synovial blood flow and has been shown to correlate ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

The lymphangiogenic growth factors VEGF-C and VEGF-D : Part 1: Basic principles and embryonic development [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This journal is listed by Scopus and EMBASE/Excerpta Medica, but not by Web of Science...VEGF-C and VEGF-D are the two central signaling molecules that stimulate the development and growth of the lymphatic system.

Innate effector cells in angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis are distinct and complex processes requiring a finely tuned balance between stimulatory and inhibitory signals. During adulthood, angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis are activated at sites of tumor growth, tissue injury ...

Dammarenediol II enhances etoposide‐induced apoptosis by targeting O‐GlcNAc transferase and Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling in liver cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Etoposide induces DNA damage, activating p53‐dependent apoptosis via caspase‐3/7, which cleaves PARP1. Dammarenediol II enhances this apoptotic pathway by suppressing O‐GlcNAc transferase activity, further decreasing O‐GlcNAcylation. The reduction in O‐GlcNAc levels boosts p53‐driven apoptosis and influences the Akt/GSK3β/mTOR signaling pathway ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Correlation between Expression of RARa Transcription Factor and Genes of VEGFR3-Dependent Signaling System in Multiple Myeloma

open access: yesКлиническая онкогематология, 2015
Background. All-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) is a natural metabolite of vitamin A, which can regulate the gene expression by means of interaction between different types of nuclear retinoic acid receptors (RARs).
