The Molecular Basis of VEGFR-1 Signal Transduction Pathways in Primary Human Monocytes [PDF]

open access: yesArteriosclerosis, Thrombosis, and Vascular Biology, 2008
Objective— Arteriogenesis, the growth of preexisting arterioles into functional arteries, is dependent on the proper function of monocytes. Likewise, wound healing is monocyte-dependent. The activation of vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1 (VEGFR-1) in monocytes induces a chemotactic ...

Efficacy, safety and cost‐effectiveness of CAR‐T therapy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
CAR T‐cells demonstrate high efficacy in blood cancers, including ALL, MM and DLBCL. Innovations target solid tumours despite challenges such as antigen escape. Combination therapies enhance the delivery and infiltration of CAR T cells. Toxicity, cost and resistance remain major barriers to clinical use.

UVA promoted tyrosine phosphorylation of VEGFR-1 and VEGFR-2 in normal human keratinocytes.

open access: yes, 2013
(a) The time-dependent phosphorylation of VEGFR-1 and VEGFR-2 in keratinocytes induced by 10 J/cm2 UVA. Cells were harvested 0, 2, 4, 8, 12, 24 h after irradiation. (b) The densitometric analysis of (a).

Soluble VEGFR-1 in pathophysiology of pregnancies complicated by hypertensive disorders: the Indian scenario [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Human Hypertension, 2012
An imbalance between angiogenic and anti-angiogenic factors has been hypothesized to have a major role in hypertensive disorders during pregnancy, which account for significant morbidity and mortality for the mother and neonate in India. There is a paucity of information on soluble vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1 (sVEGFR-1, anti ...

From anthelmintic to neuro‐oncology: A systematic review of mebendazole repurposing for brain tumour therapy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Aim Mebendazole (MBZ), a benzimidazole anthelmintic with established clinical use, has emerged as a repurposing candidate for primary brain tumours due to its multimodal anticancer actions and central nervous system penetrance. This systematic review synthesizes preclinical and clinical evidence evaluating MBZ's efficacy, mechanisms of action ...

Down-regulation of Gab1 inhibits cell proliferation and migration in hilar cholangiocarcinoma. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
Hilar cholangiocarcinoma is a highly aggressive malignancy originating from the hilar biliary duct epithelium. Due to few effective comprehensive treatments, the prognosis of hilar cholangiocarcinoma is poor. In this study, immunohistochemistry was first

Knockdown of Lv-VEGFR-10-Ig in PMCs reduces their ability to suppress BC transfating.

open access: yes, 2019
(A) Experimental design. The entire complement of PMCs was removed from a recipient embryo and replaced with 15–40 RITC-labeled PMCs from control or Lv-VEGFR-10-Ig morphant donor embryos.

A Theobromine Derivative with Anticancer Properties Targeting VEGFR‐2: Semisynthesis, in silico and in vitro Studies

open access: yesChemistryOpen, 2023
A computer‐assisted drug design (CADD) approach was utilized to design a new acetamido‐N‐(para‐fluorophenyl)benzamide) derivative of the naturally occurring alkaloid, theobromine, (T‐1‐APFPB), following the pharmacophoric features of VEGFR‐2 inhibitors ...

AKT, ATR, and Notch Inhibitors Radiosensitize a Preclinical Model of Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma

open access: yesHead &Neck, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (ACC) is a rare and lethal type of head and neck cancer. Standard therapy involves surgery followed by radiation therapy. The majority of ACC has MYB overexpression and MYB‐NFIB gene fusions, while Notch mutations are associated with aggressive behavior.
