Brain homeostasis : VEGF receptor 1 and 2 ; two unequal brothers in mind [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGFs), initially thought to act specifically on the vascular system, exert trophic effects on neural cells during development and adulthood.

Photoactivatable Caged Prodrugs of VEGFR-2 Kinase Inhibitors [PDF]

open access: yesMolecules, 2016
In this study, we report on the design, synthesis, photokinetic properties and in vitro evaluation of photoactivatable caged prodrugs for the receptor tyrosine kinase VEGFR-2. Highly potent VEGFR-2 inhibitors 1 and 3 were caged by introduction of a photoremovable protecting group (PPG) to yield the caged prodrugs 4 and 5.

Generation and characterization of a human nanobody against VEGFR-2 [PDF]

open access: yesActa Pharmacologica Sinica, 2016
Nanobody is an antibody fragment consisting of a single monomeric variable antibody domain, which can be used for a variety of biotechnological and therapeutic purposes. The aim of this work was to isolate and characterize a human signal domain antibody against VEGFR-2 domain3 (VEGFR D3) from a phage display library. To produce antigen-specific ...

Elucidating activation and deactivation dynamics of VEGFR-2 transmembrane domain with coarse-grained molecular dynamics simulations

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2023
The vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 2 (VEGFR-2) is a member of receptor tyrosine kinases (RTKs) and is a dimeric membrane protein that functions as a primary regulator of angiogenesis.

VEGFR-2 Expression in Glioblastoma Multiforme Depends on Inflammatory Tumor Microenvironment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Inflammation, 2015
Glioblastoma multiforme (GBM) is one of the most angiogenic tumors. However, antiangiogenic therapy has not shown significant clinical efficacy. The aim of our study was to evaluate the impact of inflammatory tumor microenvironment on the expression of ...

Altered expression of vascular endothelial growth factor, vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1, vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2, and Soluble Fms-like Tyrosine Kinase-1 in peripheral blood mononuclear cells from normal and preeclamptic pregnancies

open access: yesChinese Journal of Physiology, 2019
Preeclampsia (PE) is the leading cause of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality. It complicates around 2%–10% pregnancies worldwide due to imbalance between proangiogenic and anti-angiogenic factors, leading to incomplete placentation, ischemia, and

The Effects of VEGF Signal Pathway on Etiopathogenesis and AntiVEGF Treatments in Childhood Cancers

open access: yesÇocuk Dergisi, 2023
Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is the most physiologically and pathologically potent angiogenic factor that acts directly on endothelial cells.

Molecular Docking Approach of Some Quinoxaline Derivatives as Anticancer Agents Targeting VEGFR-2. [PDF]

open access: yesAlfarama Journal of Basic & Applied Sciences
The vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-2 (VEGFR-2) has a crucial role in the angiogenesis of cancer. The growth of tumors was effectively prevented by inhibiting the VEGFR-2 regulatory pathway.

Novel 3-phenylquinazolin-2,4(1H,3H)-diones as dual VEGFR-2/c-Met-TK inhibitors: design, synthesis, and biological evaluation

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
Multitarget anticancer drugs are more superior than single target drugs regarding patient compliance, drug adverse effects, drug-drug interactions, drug resistance as well as pharmaceutical industry economics.
