Experimental validation of vehicle sideslip angle observers
IEEE Intelligent Vehicles Symposium, 2004, 2004This paper compares four observers (virtual sensors) of vehicle sideslip angle. The first is linear and uses a linear vehicle model. The remaining observers use an extended nonlinear model. The three nonlinear observers are: extended Luenberger observer, extended Kalman filter and sliding mode observer.

Vehicle sideslip angle observers
2003 European Control Conference (ECC), 2003This paper compares four observers of vehicle sideslip angle. The first is linear and uses a linear vehicle model. Next observers use an extended nonlinear model. The three nonlinear observers are: extended Luenberger observer, extended Kalman filter and sliding mode observer.

Vehicle Sideslip Angle Estimation: A Review
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2018<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">Vehicle sideslip angle estimation is of great importance to the vehicle stability control as it could not be measured directly by ordinary vehicle-mounted sensors. As a result, researchers worldwide have carried out comprehensive research in estimating the vehicle sideslip angle.&

EVALUATION OF SLIDING MODE OBSERVER FOR VEHICLE SIDESLIP ANGLE
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 2005This paper presents a sliding mode observer of vehicle sideslip angle, which is the principal variable relating to the transversal forces at the tire/road interface. The vehicle is first modelled, and the model is subsequently simplified. This study validates the observer using both a validated simulator and real experimental data acquired by the ...

Trajectory tracking control of a vehicle with a large sideslip angle
2015 IEEE International Conference on Advanced Intelligent Mechatronics (AIM), 2015We propose a trajectory tracking control algorithm for a vehicle with a large sideslip angle. The proposed algorithm was designed on the basis of a vehicle's planar motion using a four-wheel vehicle model. The proposed algorithm controls the vehicle's position and attitude by integrating the motion control algorithm for a vehicle with a large sideslip ...

Vehicle Sideslip Angle Estimation and Experimental Validation
Volume 4A: Dynamics, Vibration and Control, 2013This paper presents a comparison study of three different methods for the estimation of vehicle’s lateral velocity: one based on algebraic relationships, a second based on a dynamic observer, and lastly one based on kinematic equations. All methods are based on the implementation of an experimental nonlinear model that relates the front and rear axles’

Virtual Sensor: Application to Vehicle Sideslip Angle and Transversal Forces
IEEE Transactions on Industrial Electronics, 2004This paper compares four observers (virtual sensors) of vehicle sideslip angle and lateral forces. The first is linear and uses a linear vehicle model. The remaining observers use an extended nonlinear model. The three nonlinear observers are: extended Luenberger observer, extended Kalman filter and sliding-mode observer. Modeling, model simplification,

Two-wheeled vehicles black-box sideslip angle estimation
2017 IEEE 56th Annual Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2017This paper deals with sideslip angle estimation of powered two-wheeled vehicles. Since available sensors used to directly measure this variable are bulky and expensive, estimation algorithms based on on-board measurements have been developed. These algorithms are mainly devoted to four-wheeled vehicles whereas the sideslip estimation for two-wheeled ...

Vehicle Sideslip Angle Estimation based on Switched Fuzzy Model
2019 IEEE 58th Conference on Decision and Control (CDC), 2019The vehicle sideslip angle is one of the most important state variables for vehicle motion control. Its accurate estimation is necessary for many vehicle control systems. In this paper, a novel switched Takagi–Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy observer is proposed to estimates the vehicle sideslip angle.

Vehicle sideslip angle estimation based on SVD-UPF algorithm
Journal of Intelligent & Fuzzy Systems, 2019Vehicle sideslip angle is the key parameter to evaluate the handling stability of the vehicle, and it is also one of the control targets of the vehicle stability, so the accurate estimation of the vehicle sideslip angle directly affects the safety of the vehicle.
