Unveiling Structural Heterogeneity and Evolutionary Adaptations of Heteromultimeric Bacterioferritin Nanocages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study explores the structural heterogeneity and evolutionary adaptations of heteromultimeric bacterioferritins. Hetero‐Bfrs, evolved from either a homo‐Bfr or Ftn by gene duplications, differ from homo‐Bfrs substantially in the mechanisms underpinning iron oxidation and reduction despite high similarity in overall structure.

Loss of Golga7 Suppresses Oncogenic Nras‐Driven Leukemogenesis without Detectable Toxicity in Adult Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NRAS mutations are widespread in hematologic malignancies. Our study shows that GOLGA7 serves as a safe and effective therapeutic target for NRAS‐driven leukemia. Loss of Golga7 in adult mice effectively suppresses NrasG12D‐driven myeloproliferative neoplasm by disrupting its PM localization and impairing subsequent MAPK signaling, without affecting ...

Resilient Membranized Coacervates Formed through Spontaneous Wrapping of Heat‐Destabilized Lipid Bilayers around Coacervate Droplets

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We present a universal way to wrap liposomes around coacervate droplets. Membrane‐enclosed coacervates form when heat‐destabilized liposomes are mixed with coacervates. Membranized coacervates (MCs) can survive pH and ionic strength fluctuations, osmotic stress, and low temperatures.

Deep‐UV Light‐Emitting Based on the hBN:S/hBN: Mg Homojunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
S‐atoms are selected as donor dopants to achieve the n‐type conductivity of the hBN film. A theoretical model of S‐doping hBN using DFT calculation and experimentally prepared S‐doped hBN multilayers with a recorded doping concentration of 1.21% is established.

Autophagy Related 5 Promotes Mitochondrial Fission and Inflammation via HSP90‐HIF‐1α‐Mediated Glycolysis in Kidney Fibrosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
When the normal kidney is subjected to injurious stimuli, it can lead to persistent activation of ATG5. The activation of ATG5 promotes HSP90‐HIF‐1α interaction, resulting in stabilization of HIF‐1α and subsequent activation of glycolysis. Consequently, this process contributes to mitochondrial fission and inflammation, ultimately culminating in kidney

VENOM: Text-driven Unrestricted Adversarial Example Generation with Diffusion Models [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Adversarial attacks have proven effective in deceiving machine learning models by subtly altering input images, motivating extensive research in recent years. Traditional methods constrain perturbations within $l_p$-norm bounds, but advancements in Unrestricted Adversarial Examples (UAEs) allow for more complex, generative-model-based manipulations ...

A Transition Metal‐Free Approach for the Conversion of Real‐Life Cellulose‐Based Biomass into Formate

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A visible‐light‐mediated method has been developed for the direct conversion of biomass into formate at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure. This approach achieves the selective generation of hydroxyl radicals, which subsequently transform sugars, cellulose, and hemicellulose into formate.

First record of the Coral Red Kukri Snake Oligodon kheriensis (Reptilia: Squamata: Colubridae) from Bangladesh

open access: yesJournal of Asia-Pacific Biodiversity, 2021
The Coral Red Kukri Snake Oligodon kheriensis is a rare and poorly known species; only a few specimens have been recorded so far since its first discovery in 1936.
