A Tac1‐Expressing Brainstem Pathway Underlies the Pathogenesis of Trigeminal Neuralgia
A critical TG‐Sp5CTac1‐PBNTac1 pathway drives trigeminal neuropathic pain (TNP). Tac1‐expressing parabrachial nucleus (PBNTac1) neurons exhibit heightened responses to innocuous stimuli in TNP, and chemogenetic inhibition of these neurons effectively prevents TNP development.

The rostromedial tegmental nucleus is essential for non-rapid eye movement sleep.
The rostromedial tegmental nucleus (RMTg), also called the GABAergic tail of the ventral tegmental area, projects to the midbrain dopaminergic system, dorsal raphe nucleus, locus coeruleus, and other regions.

Differential Behavioral Responses to\ud Cocaethylene of Long-Evans and\ud Sprague-Dawley Rats: Role of Serotonin [PDF]
Cocaethylene is a neuroactive metabolite derived from the concurrent consumption of cocaine and ethanol. The effects of cocaethylene on locomotor activity, stereotypy, and rearing in Long-Evans and Sprague-Dawley rats were compared.A single cocaine ...

Mutation in RNF170 Causes Unsteady Gait with Hypertrophic Olivary Degeneration
ABSTRACT Hypertrophic olivary degeneration (HOD) is a rare form of transsynaptic degeneration resulting from disruption of the Guillain–Mollaret triangle, typically presenting with palatal tremor, ataxia, and nystagmus. Mutations in the Ring Finger Protein 170 (RNF170) gene have been associated with autosomal dominant sensory ataxia.

Natural compounds regulate gut microbiota by improving microbial balance and increasing probiotics, which boost short‐chain fatty acid production to alleviate insulin resistance and inflammation. Additionally, they stimulate appetite‐suppressing hormones through bile acid signaling, while inhibiting pathogenic bacteria to repair intestinal barrier ...

Cholinergic regulation of mood: from basic and clinical studies to emerging therapeutics. [PDF]
Mood disorders are highly prevalent and are the leading cause of disability worldwide. The neurobiological mechanisms underlying depression remain poorly understood, although theories regarding dysfunction within various neurotransmitter systems have ...

This study describes functional connectivity (FC) in subjects with opioid use disorder (OUD‐only), OUD+CanUD (cannabis use disorder), OUD+AUD (alcohol use disorder), and OUD+CocUD (cocaine use disorder) before and after naltrexone (NTX). All groups displayed hyper connectivity at baseline; however, on‐NTX, OUD+CanUD and OUD+AUD showed a decrease in ...

A biologically inspired computational model of the Block Copying Task [PDF]
We present in this paper a biologically inspired model of the Basal Ganglia which deals with Block Copying as a sequence learning task. By breaking a relatively complex task into simpler operations with well-defined skills, an approach which is termed as

This study employed integrative Mendelian Randomization analysis to identify 10 drug‐targetable genes with altered expression in alcohol dependence. Colocalization evidence suggests shared causal variants. Crucially, DNA methylation at specific sites (cg07437263, cg05102552) mediates risk by upregulating the protective gene CDK5R1 (63.92%) and ...
