Pre‐Regenerative Endothelial Cells Empowered by Antler Blood Exosomes Orchestrate Peripheral Nerve Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The pre‐regenerative vascular niche (PVN) is essential for nerve repair, yet its endothelial blueprint remains unclear. We identified angiogenic ECs (AECs) as the dominant pre‐regenerative subset and found that antler blood–derived exosomes (AB‐EXO) promote repair via IMP3.

Vitamin A Deficiency and Its Association with Visceral Adiposity in Women

open access: yesBiomedicines, 2023
Body adiposity is associated with increased metabolic risk, and evidence indicates that vitamin A is important in regulating body fat. The aim of this study was to evaluate serum concentrations of vitamin A and its association with body adiposity in ...

The Mind From Within: Visceral Roots of Human Cognition

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The physiological activity of visceral organs, such as the heart, the lungs, and the gut, is surprisingly linked to many sophisticated mental operations, such as remembering the past, being aware of ourselves, making choices, and forging social bonds.

Elevated fasting plasma ghrelin in prader-willi syndrome adults is not solely explained by their reduced visceral adiposity and insulin resistance.

open access: yes, 2004
Plasma ghrelin is elevated in Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS). This might contribute to obesity or GH deficiency in such patients. Visceral adiposity and insulin resistance are reduced in PWS, which might lead to hyperghrelinemia.

Gut Microbial Release of Ferulic Acid From Germinated Quinoa Alleviates Obesity‐Associated Cognitive Impairment by Activating Hippocampal Mitophagy Associated with PINK1/Parkin Pathway

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Liberation of ferulic acid by gut microbial feruloyl esterase mediates cognitive enhancement of germinated quinoa (GQF) on obese mice. Ferulic acid enriched in GQF is released by gut microbes Roseburia hominis and R. intestinalis and subsequently mediates the neuroprotective effects of GQF on obesity‐induced cognitive decline by activating hippocampal ...

Predictive Power of Body Visceral Adiposity Index, Body Adiposity Index and Body Mass Index for Type 2 Diabetes in Qatari Population [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Background: The prevalence of type 2 diabetes (T2D) has increased recently in Qatar. Body mass index (BMI) is a predictor of T2D in many populations. However, BMI is based on height and weight measurements and not on body adiposity.

SPSB1 Promotes Subcutaneous Adipose Hyperplasia in Facial Port‐Wine Stains by Controlling HDAC1 Degradation and Stability Through Two Distinct Proteolytic Pathways

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In PWS‐ASPCs, FOSL1 drives the expression of SPSB1. SPSB1, as part of the ESC complex, further binds to HDAC1 and promotes K29‐linked and K48‐linked polyubiquitination of HDAC1. These modifications facilitate the degradation of HDAC1 through the ALP and UPS pathways, respectively.

Association of Visceral and Dysfunctional Adiposity Indices with Gallstone Disease: A Retrospective Observational Study

open access: yesDüzce Tıp Fakültesi Dergisi
Aim: Evidence regarding the association of the visceral adiposity index (VAI) and dysfunctional adiposity index (DAI) with gallstone presence remains limited.

Assessment of adiposity distribution and its association with diabetes and insulin resistance: a population-based study

open access: yesDiabetology & Metabolic Syndrome, 2019
Background Rational measures in estimating adiposity distribution in diabetic patients has yet to be validated. This study aims to provide insight about the possible links between routinely available body adiposity parameters and the development of both ...

Innovative Test Strip‐Based Colorimetric Sensors Integrated With Affinity Chromatography: Acetylcholinesterase Inhibitor Screening Breakthrough in Lycium Barbarum Leaves

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Schematic diagrams illustrating the breakthrough in the screening of AChE inhibitors from LBL, and the research process of the pharmacodynamics of the NCP are presented. ABSTRACT Current Alzheimer's drugs exhibit limited effectiveness, highlighting the necessity for multi‐target treatments.
