IVU-AutoNav: Integrated Visual and UWB Framework for Autonomous Navigation
To address the inherent scale ambiguity and positioning drift in monocular visual Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM), this paper proposes a novel localization method that integrates monocular visual SLAM with Ultra-Wideband (UWB) ranging ...

Efficient Continuous-Time SLAM for 3D Lidar-Based Online Mapping
Modern 3D laser-range scanners have a high data rate, making online simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) computationally challenging. Recursive state estimation techniques are efficient but commit to a state estimate immediately after a new scan ...

VIGS-SLAM: Visual Inertial Gaussian Splatting SLAM
We present VIGS-SLAM, a visual-inertial 3D Gaussian Splatting SLAM system that achieves robust real-time tracking and high-fidelity reconstruction. Although recent 3DGS-based SLAM methods achieve dense and photorealistic mapping, their purely visual design degrades under motion blur, low texture, and exposure variations.

Helmeted hornbill cranial kinesis: Balancing mobility and stability in a high‐impact joint
Abstract Prokinesis—in which a craniofacial joint allows the rostrum to move relative to the braincase—is thought to confer diverse advantages in birds, mostly for feeding. A craniofacial joint would, however, be a weak link if cranial stability is important. Paradoxically, we have identified a craniofacial joint in helmeted hornbills (Rhinoplax vigil),

Improved Visual SLAM Algorithm Based on Dynamic Scenes
This work presents a novel RGB-D dynamic simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) method that improves accuracy, stability, and efficiency of localization while relying on deep learning in a dynamic environment, in contrast to traditional static ...

Learning Meshes for Dense Visual SLAM
Estimating motion and surrounding geometry of a moving camera remains a challenging inference problem. From an information theoretic point of view, estimates should get better as more information is included, such as is done in dense SLAM, but this is strongly dependent on the validity of the underlying models.

Objective Giant cell arteritis (GCA) is a large‐vessel vasculitis, potentially causing complications such as blindness and strokes. This study aims to gain insights into the pathogenesis of GCA by identifying specific DNA methylation signatures in the arterial tissue of patients with this vasculitis. Methods DNA methylation profiling was analyzed in 79

ABSTRACT Tool use research has long made the distinction between tool using that is considered learned and flexible, and that which appears to be instinctive and stereotyped. However, animals with an inherited tool use specialisation can exhibit flexibility, while tool use that is spontaneously innovated can be limited in its expression and facilitated

The transformation of CO2 into chemical building blocks is essential for a net‐zero energy future. Plasma‐chemical processing offers promising potential to achieve this. Here, we explore a temperature‐dependent plasma‐chemical reaction mechanism, revealing a shift from electron‐driven to thermal‐driven CO2 conversion regimes.
