An Improved Visual SLAM Based on Map Point Reliability under Dynamic Environments
The visual simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) method under dynamic environments is a hot and challenging issue in the robotic field. The oriented FAST and Rotated BRIEF (ORB) SLAM algorithm is one of the most effective methods.

A Review of Visual-LiDAR Fusion based Simultaneous Localization and Mapping
Autonomous navigation requires both a precise and robust mapping and localization solution. In this context, Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) is a very well-suited solution.

A visual compass based on SLAM [PDF]
Accurate full 3 axis orientation is computed using a low cost calibrated camera. We present a simultaneous sensor location and mapping method that uses a purely rotating camera as sensor and distant points, ideally at infinity, as features. A smooth constant angular velocity pure rotation motion model codifies the camera location.

Visual 3-D SLAM from UAVs [PDF]
The aim of the paper is to present, test and discuss the implementation of Visual SLAM techniques to images taken from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) outdoors, in partially structured environments.

A LiDAR/Visual SLAM Backend with Loop Closure Detection and Graph Optimization
LiDAR (light detection and ranging), as an active sensor, is investigated in the simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) system. Typically, a LiDAR SLAM system consists of front-end odometry and back-end optimization modules.

DEEP LEARNING TO SUPPORT 3D MAPPING CAPABILITIES OF A PORTABLE VSLAM-BASED SYSTEM [PDF]
The use of vision-based localization and mapping techniques, such as visual odometry and SLAM, has become increasingly prevalent in the field of Geomatics, particularly in mobile mapping systems. These methods provide real-time estimation of the 3D scene

KEYFRAME-BASED VISUAL-INERTIAL SLAM USING NONLINEAR OPTIMIZATION [PDF]
The fusion of visual and inertial cues has become popular in robotics due to the complementary nature of the two sensing modalities. While most fusion strategies to date rely on filtering schemes, the visual robotics community has recently turned to non ...

Avoiding negative depth in inverse depth bearing-only SLAM [PDF]
In this paper we consider ways to alleviate negative estimated depth for the inverse depth parameterisation of bearing-only SLAM. This problem, which can arise even if the beacons are far from the platform, can cause catastrophic failure of the filter. We

A Survey of Visual SLAM Methods
In the evolving landscape of modern robotics, Visual SLAM (V-SLAM) has emerged over the past two decades as a powerful tool, empowering robots with the ability to navigate and map their surroundings. While these methods are traditionally confined to static environments, there has been a growing interest in developing V-SLAM to handle dynamic and ...
