This study explored how a 90‐day nutraceutical blend with prebiotics, minerals, and silymarin affects the gut‐brain axis in overweight adults. Results showed improved gut microbiota, reduced inflammation, and better sleep, mood, and quality of life, suggesting a strong link between gut health and mental well‐being.

BackgroundPostprandial lipemia (PPL) is likely a risk factor for cardiovascular disease but these changes have not been well described and characterized in a large cohort. We assessed acute changes in the size and concentration of total and subclasses of

Nanosilica mop up host lipids and fights baculovirus [PDF]
Various types of surface functionalized nanosilica (50-60 nm size with 3-10 nm inner pore size range) have been used to kill insect pests by sucking up cuticular lipids and breaking the water barrier. We have also utilized nanosilica for mopping up host lipids induced by the malarial parasite, P. gallinaceum in poultry birds; VLDL cholesterol and serum

Differences in GlycA and lipoprotein particle parameters may help distinguish acute kawasaki disease from other febrile illnesses in children. [PDF]
BackgroundGlycosylation patterns of serum proteins, such as α1-acid glycoprotein, are modified during an acute phase reaction. The response of acute Kawasaki disease (KD) patients to IVIG treatment has been linked to sialic acid levels on native IgG ...

This study highlights the possible mechanisms underlying the detrimental effects of high‐fructose consumption on pancreatic function. Our findings revealed that dietary high‐fructose in the pancreas causes hyperinsulinemia due to the upregulation of glucose transporter 2 (GLUT2) together with cellular stress and inflammatory markers, thereby stimulates

Apolipoprotein B-100 (apoB-100) is degraded by endoplasmic reticulum-associated degradation (ERAD) when lipid availability limits assembly of VLDLs. The ubiquitin ligase gp78 and the AAA-ATPase p97 have been implicated in the proteasomal degradation of ...

Obesity, White Adipose Tissue, and Adipokines Signaling in Male Reproduction
Role of adipokines in the hypothalamic‐pituitary‐gonadal axis (HPG) during obesity. Obesity induces structural and functional changes in WAT, with a consequent imbalance in the production and secretion of adipokines. While the adipokines adiponectin and omentin‐1 are downregulated, the adipokines leptin, resistin, vifastin, apelin, and chemerin are ...

Effects of exercise on VLDL-triglyceride oxidation and turnover.
Lipids are important substrates for oxidation at rest and during exercise. Aerobic exercise mediates a delayed onset decrease in total and VLDL-triglyceride (TG) plasma concentration.

The cholesterol-raising diterpenes from coffee beans increase serum lipid transfer protein activity levels in humans [PDF]
Cafestol and kahweol–diterpenes present in unfiltered coffee— strongly raise serum VLDL and LDL cholesterol and slightly reduce HDL cholesterol in humans. The mechanism of action is unknown.

ABSTRACT Purpose Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a major cause of end‐stage kidney disease (ESKD), with kidney transplantation being the preferred treatment. However, post‐transplant diabetes mellitus (PTDM) increases mortality and graft loss. While PTDM and Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) share risk factors, their mechanisms differ, particularly in diabetic
