Effects of CETP inhibition with anacetrapib on metabolism of VLDL-TG and plasma apolipoproteins C-II, C-III, and E[S]

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2017
Cholesteryl ester transfer protein (CETP) mediates the transfer of HDL cholesteryl esters for triglyceride (TG) in VLDL/LDL. CETP inhibition, with anacetrapib, increases HDL-cholesterol, reduces LDL-cholesterol, and lowers TG levels. This study describes

Sex‐Specific Impact of Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Fatty Liver Disease on Incident Cardiovascular Diseases and Mortality

open access: yesEndocrinology, Diabetes &Metabolism, Volume 8, Issue 3, May 2025.
Metabolic dysfunction‐associated fatty liver disease (MAFLD) is more common in men. MAFLD raises the risk of cardiovascular events and mortality. Women with MAFLD face a greater risk of cardiovascular events and mortality. Adding steatosis to metabolic dysfunction raised cardiovascular and mortality risk. ABSTRACT Background and Aims Considering recent

Heparan sulfate proteoglycans mediate internalization and degradation of beta-VLDL and promote cholesterol accumulation by pigeon macrophages

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1997
Pigeon and rabbit beta-migrating very low density lipoprotein (beta-VLDL) are similar in size and composition, yet rabbit beta-VLDL consistently stimulates greater cholesteryl ester accumulation in pigeon peritoneal macrophages than does pigeon beta-VLDL.

Subclinical Pregnancy Toxemia Affects Blood Parameters of Ewes and Impairs Postnatal Growth and Development of Lambs

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 3, May 2025.
Subclinical pregnancy toxemia (SPT) negatively affects postnatal growth and development of lambs. ABSTRACT Pregnancy toxemia (PT) is a common metabolic disorder that occurs in the last trimester of pregnancy. This study aimed to detect the effects of subclinical PT (SPT) on serum biochemical parameters of ewes and postnatal growth and development of ...

Lipoprotein lipase- and hepatic triglyceride lipase-promoted very low density lipoprotein degradation proceeds via an apolipoprotein E-dependent mechanism

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 2000
Apolipoprotein E (apoE) is the primary recognition signal on triglyceride-rich lipoproteins responsible for interacting with low density lipoprotein (LDL) receptors and LDL receptor-related protein (LRP).

Responses of Broiler Chickens to Diets of Different Nutritional Planes Supplemented With or Without Organic Acids

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 11, Issue 3, May 2025.
The study evaluated the response of broilers to diets of different nutritional planes supplemented with or without organic acids. Two hundred and forty broiler chicks were used. Different diet types were supplemented with 4, 6 and 8 g/kg organic acid. Organic acid supplementation had beneficial impacts on broilers.
