Modulation of Voltage‐Gated Ion Channels by Sialylation
Comprehensive Physiology, 2012Control and modulation of electrical signaling is vital to normal physiology, particularly in neurons, cardiac myocytes, and skeletal muscle. The orchestrated activities of variable sets of ion channels and transporters, including voltage‐gated ion ...

Extracellular Surface Charges in Voltage-Gated Ion Channels
Physiology, 2000A large number of charged amino acids are in the extracellularly located parts of the voltage-gated ion channels. Recent findings suggest that these surface charges contribute to the channel functions in the sensing of voltage, the binding of substances, and the sensing of H+ concentration.

Insecticides Affecting Voltage-Gated Ion Channels
2001In this chapter the term insecticides is used in its broadest sense and refers to any category of chemical compounds (from low molecular weight organics to globular polypeptides) of either synthetic or natural origin which is processed/designed by either chemical or genetic manipulations to provide a device for large-scale insect control.
