Ion‐Reconfigurable “N”‐Shaped Antiambipolar Behavior in Organic Electrochemical Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
A unique N‐shaped negative differential transconductance (NDT) characteristics is demonstrated in single‐polymer organic electrochemical transistors through a sequential doping–redox–doping process driven by iodide ions. This redox‐driven mechanism enables low‐voltage, ion‐controlled reconfigurability and tunable current modulation, allowing seamless ...

Laser‐Assisted Phase Engineering of 2D MoS2 for Efficient Solution‐Processed Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Here, local laser‐assisted phase transition from solution‐processed phase‐pure 1T′ to 2H MoS2 is shown to critically depend on the irradiation atmosphere. While processing in air leads to damaged insulating regions, inert conditions yield semiconducting 2H domains, enabling direct field‐effect transistor patterning with optimized lateral 1T′‐2H MoS2 ...

Drug binding sites on Nat1.8 sodium channels [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
The voltage-gated sodium channel, Nav 1.8, is known to play an important role in pain signalling. In this thesis, the functional properties and drug binding sites of wild type and mutant Nav 1.8 sodium channel currents were studied in mammalian sensory ...

Gold‐Stabilized Copper Enables Anodic Hydrogen Evolution for Ultralow‐Voltage CO‐to‐Ethylene Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Gold‐stabilized copper suppresses hydroxide‐driven deactivation during anodic hydrogen evolution from furfural. Pairing this low‐potential anode with CO‐to‐ethylene electroreduction enables sub‐1 V operation at 400 mA cm−2, high single‐pass CO conversion, and co‐production of ethylene, furoic acid, and a separate hydrogen stream.

Generation of KCNH2 heterozygous knockout induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) line (Long and Short QT Syndrome)

open access: yesStem Cell Research
KCNH2 (Potassium Voltage-Gated Channel Subfamily H Member) encodes a voltage-activated potassium channel role as rapidly activating-delayed rectifier potassium channel that plays an essential role in the final repolarization of the ventricular action ...

Engineering Pluripotent Stem Cells‐Derived Inner Ear Organoids With Enhanced Maturation and Reproducibility by Micro‐Topographical Cues

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Micro‐topographical cues applied through temporally controlled microscale confinement improve the reproducibility, spatial organization, and neurosensory‐associated features of pluripotent stem cell‐derived inner ear organoids. Integration with a vascularized organoid platform further enables controlled investigation of vascular‐epithelial interactions

Ionic Gating of Liquid‐Crystal‐Like Pteridine Assemblies Enables Tunable Light Scattering

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Tunable optical properties emerge through developmentally regulated ionic gating, which transforms disordered, ultraviolet (UV)‐absorbing organelles into concentrically ordered, liquid‐crystal‐like light scatterers. By integrating analyses of pteridine composition, potassium‐dependent assembly, hierarchical ultrastructure, and optical behavior, the ...

Extended secondhand smoke exposure alters potassium channel activity and reduces excitability of cardiac vagal neurons in mice

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology
BackgroundDespite the decline in secondhand smoke (SHS) exposure since the implementation of smoking bans in public places, SHS exposure remains a significant health risk factor affecting about 1/3 of non-smokers worldwide.

Inactivation of KCNQ1 potassium channels reveals dynamic coupling between voltage sensing and pore opening

open access: yesNature Communications, 2017
KCNQ1 is a voltage-gated potassium channel that is important in cardiac and epithelial function. Here the authors present a mechanism for KCNQ1 activation and inactivation in which voltage sensor activation promotes pore opening more effectively in the ...
