Site-Directed Mutagenesis of Avibirnavirus VP4 Gene
Virus protein VP4 of infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) is a protease which separates VPX and VP3 from the polyprotein. We studied the importance of serine and aspartic acid on cleavage at the VPX/VP4 junction and analysed the role of the proposed H547, D590, and S653 catalytic site using five different mutations on VP4.

Does the Evidence Support the Existence of the Simian Polyomavirus SV40 Vp4 Viroporin? [PDF]
The simian polyomavirus SV40 was reported to express Vp4, an N-terminally truncated form of the minor capsid proteins Vp2 and Vp3. Since a missense mutation of the putative Vp4 start codon (Vp2M228I) was found to give reduced progeny release and delayed ...

Generation of Antibodies against Foot-and-Mouth-Disease Virus Capsid Protein VP4 Using Hepatitis B Core VLPs as a Scaffold [PDF]
The picornavirus foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) is the causative agent of the economically important disease of livestock, foot-and-mouth disease (FMD). VP4 is a highly conserved capsid protein, which is important during virus entry.

Liver resection in selective hepatocellular carcinoma with Vp3 or Vp4 portal vein tumor thrombosis improves prognosis [PDF]
Background/Aim Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) tumor thrombi located in the first branch of the portal vein (Vp3) or in the main portal trunk (Vp4) are associated with poor prognosis. This study aimed to investigate the clinicopathological characteristics

Seneca valley virus VP4 protein regulates the transcription of different cytokines in vitro [PDF]
To understand the effect of Seneca valley virus (SVV) VP4 protein on innate immune factors, the VP4 gene was cloned into the pEGFP-C1 expression plasmid to construct the pEGFP-C1-VP4 recombinant plasmid. After the recombinant plasmid was transfected into

Outcomes of Hepatocellular Carcinoma involving the Portal Vein Main Trunk and/or the Inferior Vena Cava: Experience From a Multidisciplinary Liver Cancer Clinic. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Background Vascular invasion by hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), particularly involving the main portal vein or inferior vena cava (IVC), is associated with poor prognosis. However, contemporary real‐world outcomes and the clinical benefit of liver‐directed therapies (LDT) in this setting are poorly defined.

VP4 Mutation Boosts Replication of Recombinant Human/Simian Rotavirus in Cell Culture
Rotavirus A (RVA) is the leading cause of diarrhea requiring hospitalization in children and causes over 100,000 annual deaths in Sub-Saharan Africa. In order to generate next-generation vaccines against African RVA genotypes, a reverse genetics system ...

VP4 monotype specificities among porcine rotavirus strains of the same VP4 serotype [PDF]
The porcine rotavirus OSU strain was used to produce monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) directed against the outer capsid protein VP4. From two separate fusions, eight MAbs that inhibited hemagglutination activity of the OSU strain were selected. All MAbs immunoprecipitated both the OSU VP4 protein derived from a lysate of infected MA104 cells and the OSU ...
